One Hot Day


















  • Took some self-photos in the hotel while waiting for the hubz to arrive from his early morning walk. Just figured that my own photos are much better than his, hehe!
  • Went to Fatima for a short visit to our Lady. A lifelong dream, another is to visit Egypt.
  •  Buying and lighting a candle after walking all over the place. Can´t believe the hundreds of flower offerings that came pouring in just after an hour of our visit. The place is GIGANTIC. There were 2 main churches and lots of chapels( mostly underground). Saw also some devotees kneeling their way towards the altar. Now that´s what I call pure sacrifice. The heat was in unbearable that day.
  • Dined on 2 huge slices of pizza at only.. 1.95 euros each. No, I didn´t eat them all. Promise!
Tired from too much walking on a very hot day in Lisbon and Fatima, I felt like massaging the soles of my feet every time we waited for the metro.


Don´t worry, I didn´t ... well.. almost  but I did some cat naps inside the metro in-between stations. ;)

Wearing:

top- Zara ( summer sales 2010)
skirt- Mango ( summer sales 2008)
sandals- local Spanish store (summer sales 2009)
ID necklace- very old ( from the Sex and the City heydays! )

Hey Che, nice post thanks for sharing. We normally stay in Sweden during summer and I guess you know how it is ;). I prefer to travel in spring or autumn.

shirt dress converted to top - Zara ( from the sales last year) Lately, I´ve discovered that the extra pounds that I´ve unconsciously piled over the past years have finally settled comfortably on my face. Skirting the Issue

Halooo! So how´s your weekend? ;) Mine was spent visiting the new flat ( we just had the new sofa delivered, yey!) and last Saturday we went to this mini-food fair where they sell lots of goodies. I tasted some chorizos, jamon serrano, and a glass of white wine too. Too bad I forgot to take the camera so no photos to show you but we brought home some sweets which unfortunately we also gobbled up during the weekend. hihihi! At least I´ve spared you from breaking your diets this summer. ;) Truth be told, I don´t look good wearing high waisted skirts because I have wide hips ( I´m good at hiding them here ;) . Maybe I could pull off wearing them 10 yrs. ago when I still have a slimmer silhouette, er, smaller waistine and hips and a flatter middle but now everything especially my hips are expanding faster like the speed of light. Flyday Fridays: Paris (part 1)

The first time I went to Paris was in early spring. It was raining and gloomy but that didn´t stop me from falling in love with this romantic city. Here are some things to do and places to visit when you´re in Pa-gheee . ;) 1, 2, 3: Get lost inside le Louvre,  pass by   Mona Lisa´s room and get mesmerized by her coy smile and if you like ancient jewelry, be enthralled by the museum´s jewelry collection. Even the bishop´s crozier is bejeweled! 4: Admire the Sainte Chapelle´s amazing ceiling, structure and colorful stained glass windows. 5,6: Fall in line (entrance is free!) and admire the sculpture and stained windows of the Notre Dame. By this time you´re very tired and so take a rest at the park/garden at the back of the church. Later you can cross the small bridge and have your lunch at one of the numerous creperies and restaurants in the small island. 7,8: After a light lunch, take the metro and go to Montmartre and visit the Sacré Coeur.
