WIWW: Nude, Lace and Mint Green

Image
Hello, world! top - Massimo Dutti, skirt - Zara, blazer - Formula Joven, clutch - Blanco I´m making the most of the still summery weather in here by wearing nude and mint green. Okay, maybe this is more of a spring outift and maybe this combination may not go well with my very dark hair color but I dared wearing it with a smile. We need to experiment with what we have to know what works and what does not. ;) One thing that clicked though was this leopard necklace with my lacey top. My MIL(mother-in-law) couldn´t stop commenting on how great I look wearing the necklace with the whole ensemble. Something wild over lace is not something my classic wearing MIL sees all the time and so that´s a generous compliment coming from her. :) So how´s the weather out there? Would you still wear something light even if autumn´s in your town? The Balenciaga Series 4

Image
And so I´m back! :) But before I´ll show you my latest travel photos from Galicia, let me finish first the Balenciaga Series. This would be the last part of the series. Unfortunately the gallery where the gowns were displayed was so dark, only two of the gowns photographed well. Good thing, these two are the most beautiful too. ;) The upper portion of this gown is a  ¨cloque¨. The most expensive fabric ( probably due to the embroidery, etc.) of that time. You can see more current designs and  jaw dropping dresses made from this kind of fabric at the  MuseĆ© de la Mode et du Textile in Paris. This time the dresses were designed by Nicholas GhesquiĆØre. The museum´s quite near the Louvre entrance and so you´ll never get lost. ;) Color blocking at it´s best. This long two-piece gown was worn by the late Princess Grace of Monaco in the 1960s. Dahlings, color blocking existed a long, long time ago. As the old clichĆ© goes: Fashion repeats itself...

The Balenciaga Series 3

So here´s the bridal edition of the Balenciaga series. All of these gowns are vintage and can be found at the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa en Getaria, Spain. Enjoy the photos, dahlings ! ;) The first gown´s silhouette reminds me of the Duchess of Cambridge´s wedding gown which was based on Princess Grace´s gown too. The second one is much simpler. The perfect canvass for your eye catching bling on your wedding day. :) This one has all the bling sewn on it and so a perfect pair of stud earrings will do and a small discrete tiara, perhaps?   front side This last gown is very special because it was worn by Queen Fabiola ( she´s Spanish) of Belgium when she got married. The gown´s lined in mink, perfect for a winter wedding which was held in December by the way. Simple but so chic, no? ;) Now that you have some ideas for your gown when you get married, would you prefer the demure type or the sexy type? Lots of beads or woul...

The Balenciaga Series 2

For me, the best fashion era for the ¨modern¨ woman was in the 50s and early 60s. The hemlines may have gone shorter (but modestly) but you still get your frills. Here´s part 2 of my Balenciaga series. Lace, lace and nothing but lace for cocktail dresses: And then some more styles: front back So which one of these would you like to wear in a soireĆ©? ;) xoxo, Che
