WIWW: The Week That Was

Image
Hello, my luvs! The cold weather caught on us finally and... it looks like we jumped directly to winter! So the past week, I wore nothing but jackets, jumpers and my favorite black sneakers. Here´s a rundown of what I did last week 1. The hub z and I went to our centuries old and very coquette cemetery  to visit our loved ones on November 1. It was a dreary day but the sun came out in time for lunch so yey for that! :) 2. The day after, I decided to do some window shopping at the mall. I saw this very cosy and toasty top at Zara. Love the stripes and the color combo too (I ´ve got a tote bag and mules to match with it, matchy-matchy, hehe) but the practical gal in me decided to let it go. I needed a long sleeved top because it´s winter, you know and I want my arms to feel warm too. 3. The weekend is for cultivating the mind and soul or make that every 1st Saturday of the month because I always make it a point to attend a classical concert at my city´s Museum of...

Monday Remix: Dear Cardigan

Image
Dear fave cardigan, Goodbye not because I don´t love you anymore but because I´ve abused you so much that I couldn´t take it anymore. Despite that you´ve loosened up (literally)  and pilled all over, I was still in a state of denial that you and I are still going strong but it´s so not true. Reality check told me to let you go and my heart´s breaking though you can´t see it in my smile. So as a fitting goodbye, I´ve worn you one last time with my new leopard printed circle skirt on a sunny but super windy and cold day. As always, you were there keeping me warm all over. Oh, how I wish you didn´t grow so old easily but it has been more than three years and we have to part so that I can move on. cardigan(very old) - New Yorker, skirt - Stradivarius, clutch(old) - Mango If you´ve forgotten how many times we´ve dated, these are just some of the ways that we´ve bonded a lot: It´s with a real heavy heart that I´ve to let you go but fret not  because you´ll alway...

Flyday Fridays: A Date With Elche

Image
Halloooo! Happy Friday, dahlings ! Today, I´m taking you on a date (pun intended)  to the city of Elche in Valencia, Spain. I´d like to call it as the palm tree city of Spain because of it´s more than 200,000 palm trees grown over generations. Moreover, the kilometers of palm grove was awared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000. This is just one of the main parks of the city a few meters from the train station. Of course, I had to take a posterity shot of the fountain in the background. ;) coat(old) - Sandro, button down - New Yorker, pants - Pimkie, tote bag - Longchamp le Pliage Below is the Altamira Castle originally built between the12-13th century which is now part of the Elche Archaeology and History Museum. I also found these giant figures inside the museum which are present in Spanish fiestas and are usuaully paraded around. Elche is also known  for one of the most important archaeological finds in Spain, the stone bust of ...

Dressing Up a Plain Top

Image
Wearing: teal top - Blanco necklace - Stradivarius (summer sale 2010) ring - local fair in Bilbao There´s no doubt that the cold days are already here on this side of the world and will be staying for quite a long, long time. Oh summer, why have you gone so fast? You´ll be seeing me mostly in sweaters and cardigans from this time on.Out on the street, you´ll never see my neck fully exposed like this, I´d surely have sore throat in 10 minutes. Exagge! hahaha! No really, everything needs to be covered from the neck to toe because the north wind could be so harsh and sooo cold! But it´s nice to know that  after the scarf and coat are taken off , something pretty still hangs on your neck. It´s my way of dressing up an otherwise drab, solid colored top. So how do you dress up a plain top? ;) Yours trully, Che PS : The top´s real color is teal, I don´t know how it happened but it turned out blue in the pictures.

RED IN SPRING

Image
Spring is for florals. Trends are nudes and denim on denim, a la chambray shirt over a dark wash denim.  mocha slacks - Guess, paisley top - Kamiseta, red coat - Zara beige bag - H&M  ( from the sales last year) So what am I doing with red? red cocktail ring - local dep´t store None other than to compliment and accessorize.Wearing beige or nude from head to toe can be boring, no? ;) After seeing the last photo, I´ve just discovered that my hand is super dehydrated, hehe! This was taken in Loiola, Guipuzcoa in the Spanish Basque country. That huge church behind me is the Basilica of St. Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuit Order. Have a lovely mid-week, everyone! :) Che Psst! More of my travel photos here . ;)

The Pea Coat

Image
After the long post drought, I´m finally back and this time I´m going to do regular posting on this blog. Yep, spring is finally here on this side of the word. Despite the temperature getting warmer day after day, the nights are still cold and some days still go back to being wintery. Love casual dressing. Jeans and thin turtlenecks are perfect spring basics if you don´t like wearing a scarf for that still chilly breeze. Wearing: baby blue turtleneck by Lefties Bib necklace by F21 ( Hanh´s giveaway) old denim jeans by Levis and a short pea coat by Zara which I bought for 70% off. Beat that! :) Have a lovely week ahead, fashionistas! :)
