Monday Remix: The Corduroy Skirt

Image
Hi, all! Here´s another casual and summery look to start the week right: red stripes for a top, blue colored corduroy skirt, a tan colored bag and sandals and Panama hat to cap off my nautical inspired look. Such a no-fuss combination, isn´t it? ;) Throw in a studded leather bangle and an assortment of other bracelets on the other hand and we´re done! My feet always swell when it´s hot  outside and so I make sure that I´m wearing open-toed sandals so that it can breathe especially the toes. bangle and blue chain bracelet - Massimo Dutti, sandals - CLN(Filipino brand) Summer is my favorite season to dress up because you don´t need to layer a lot of things (except that jacket/cardigan for those chilly mornings and evenings) to keep you warm because it´s already hot AND I don´t need to worry about stacking my bangles and bracelets because they won´t get snagged. Practical thinking, no? top -Mango, skirt - New Yorker, bag - Bimba&Lola As for the corduroy sk...

Monday Remix: Nautical and The New Boots

Image
Hello, everyone! I admit, I´m very late in the knee high boots game. You see, I have very short legs and extra thick calves ( there, I just said it)  so finding a pair of tall boots in my size which zips up to the top is like the holy grail. So I laid low and waited for a while until I found the one. One day while window shopping with a friend, I found this pair of tall suede boots at 70% off and it zipped right up without a fuss. Could this be it? You guessed it right! As for my outfit, I went for srtipes and a full skirt and wore the tall bootsfor the first time. I´m kinda not digging this look because I look so short but I didn´t have the time to change into a shorter skirt so I just put on a shorter jacket and got on with my day. More ways to style this number coming soon. Oh and can I just say what a gorgeous day we had last Sunday? No, not yesterday´s Sunday  because it was still cloudy but  the other week´s Sunday. The blue skies made me skip...

Flyday Fridays: By the Seaside

Image
Most people who go to vacation in Alicante during the summer holidays usually go to just one place, Benidorm. Sun, sea, mild weather all year round  and relatively cheaply priced drinks compared to the other famous vacation spots in Europe, say France, makes this place the perfect dream destination for beach lovers who love to soak in the sun all day, drink beer/sangria and have fun all night! After having a sumptuous lunch at one of the restaurants along the port of Alicante(the capital city), we hopped on the tram-train to Benidorm. The trip took about 70 minutes. I´ve never been on this side of Spain and although I wasn´t really keen on visiting this place ( I grew up on a tropical island with a semi-private beach just a hundred meters from our kitchen window) , I happily went along with the hub z . What the hubz told me was true. There´s nothing there but the beach, sand, a few palm trees and yes, the scrycrapers. Lots of them in every corner! A shot to keep just in...

WIWW: ¨ Nauti¨ in Winter

Image
Happy New Year, all! :) It´s so strange not to wear boots and a thick jacket in winter but yes, I did wear light... in the southeastern part of Spain. ;) Oh well, I had to wear a coat over this in the early morning and when the sun set  because it does get cold but.. coat(old) - Sandro in-between just this: It´s been a while since I´ve worn stripes, I´ve been favoring animal print and solid colors lately but hey, horizontal stripes are slimming and look really great when paired with a dark denim jacket and red pants. Nautical´s a classic, no? denim jacket , pants - Promod, stripes top - Sfera, bag - le Pliage So how did your NY´s Eve go? I celebrated mine alone watching some of my fave Spanish actors ringing in the new year on tv while the husband had an early night because he´s sick, uh-oh! At least he got to finish most of his dinner but we weren´t able to eat the twelve grapes( New Year´s Eve Spanish custom) and drink champagne while celebrating ...
