Monday Remix: El Matadero

Image
Hi, everyone! How time flies! We´re almost at the end of the 3rd month of 2018 and yet, I¨m still posting photos from 2017(lol!). I got so busy( as usual) and didn´t get to get to edit these photos when the hubz and I went on a weekend trip to Madrid last December. Finally, here are some of the pics taken from the street of El Matadero, a slaughterhouse complex converted into a center for the creation of Contemporary Arts: Before posting some more OOTD pics, can we just take  a moment to admire this ¨mod¨ design of our hotel room? I love the no-fuss minimalist design and pastel color combo which I find so clean and refreshing. The last time we stayed in this hotel was about six to seven years ago and the room deco wasn´t like this at all! With a change of management and some interior renovation, the room turned out like this. I can´t say though if all of the rooms are refurbished like this  ( I´ve only stayed in one) but I´m loving it! The hotel´s name is the Weare Hot...

WIWW: Casual in Lime Green

Image
Good morning, everyone! Here´s a what I wore look while spending the last days of 2017 in the south of Spain. We escaped to Seville to celebrate NY´s Eve and the first two days of 2018. Gosh, the weather was  a lot warmer in there though we had to wear a jacket in the early morning. Oh well, comparing to the northern part of Spain where we live, the temperature´s definitely twice higher in Seville! So I opted for a spring- y  look while staying there.😊😎 This lime green knitted top (AW17 sale find) never ended up in any of my blog posts whenenver I wear it and so I´m debuting it in the blog today. The jeans were another old winter sale find ( I´m into relaxed fit  these days, aren´t they so comfy?)  and busted out an old bag of mine from two years ago. The shoes were Gucci- esque, a lovely find from Portugal where we had an early autumn/fall trip last year which was actually like, three monhs ago, lol! top- Massimo Dutti, jeans- Mango, shoes- Seaside, ba...

Flyday Fridays: To Somewhere Green and Fresh

Image
Happy 2018, everyone! gray coa t - H&M Oh yes, I have the perfect explanation why I stopped  posting on the whole month of December. I ran out of pics to post( true story!) and you know, I was traveling and Christmas season was in full swing in my tiny abode and so my barely there blogger life took a back seat.. yet again .🙏😉 Anyhoo, I´m back for now (hehe!) and consider this post a sneak peek of what´s to come ahead. We had a long weekend holiday on the second week of  December here in Spain and so the hubz and I took the time to escape to Catalonia and dropped by Lloret de Mar´s Jardins de Sant Clothilde just to enjoy the quietness of the place. sweater - Zara Kids The garden´s located just up the cliff and down below is a little beach for some private walking, talking or relaxing under the sun. Although the city that I live has a lot of parks and trees, there´s nothing more relaxing than inhaling pure sea air around you It´s quite a chilly day a...

WIWW: Fall Floral Skirt

Image
Hellooo!!! Here´s what I wore when  the hub z and I went on a long weekend trip to Portugal two weeks ago. The weather´s so summery that I only packed nothing but this skirt, a shirt dress, sandals! skirt - Zara,  sunglasses - Massimo Dutti,  mules - Marypaz I bought this skirt from the summer sales. No one really picked this one out because who would want to wear a dark and thick floral skirt in the middle of summer? No, I don´t but hey, I always think about the future and so she( I always call my skirts and dresses a she, lol!) went home with me. Glad that I did because for me,  she´s the perfect skirt  to wear in autumn/fall. Just pair a short sleeved top and mules/sandals with it for those warm weather days and... a jumper/sweater with tights and boots/booties or whatever shoes you like wearing on those chilly days and you´re done! This is quite a nice transition dressing piece, don´t you think?😉 I hope you´re enjoying your Wednesda...

Flyday Friday: Nájera

Image
Good morning, my luvs! Finally, after like a gazillion promises here´s a short travel post for today to share with you. :) Aside from the world famous paella, Spain´s gastronomy wouldn´t be complete without it´s wines. In fact, one of the most sought after region for wine connaisseurs  in the world is the La Rioja region. These pics were taken sometime in September(last year, e eep !) when the harvest season began. We visited a touristy town called Nájera in La Rioja. Here´s what I wore: striped buttondown , shoes and bag - Massimo Dutti, pants - Mango, twill jacket- Zara A visit to one of La Rioja´s  pueblos , isn´t complete without stopping along the roadside to look at the grapes and a sneaky pic of the ripened grapes ready for harvesting. It´s quite tempting to plop a few on my mouth but they´re strict in here so photos only please and no grape tasting! Do you see that red cliff on the photo? This place was once used as a hiding place during the Moor i...

WIWW: Blue, Black and Some Leopard

Image
Happy New Year, my darlings! :) The hub z and I decided to escape to sunny Seville, Spain to welcome the year for a change. It was heaven to be able to wear just a light jacket or even a faux fur-lined cardigan (just like what I´m wearing) instead of a thick puffer jacket +  huge scarf combo for a few days. To complement the blue and black color scheme, I used a leopard printed saddle bag which I´ve had since more than a year ago. I´ve gained a few pounds from the pre and post holiday parties which I attended here and there and so dark blue and black were my favorite colors to wear nowadays, hahaha! cardigan - local brand, blue turtle neck - Zara, skinny jeans - H&M, bag(old) - Massimo Dutti, shoe s- Adidas Stan Smith So how´s the first nine days of 2017 been treating you? Freaking cold, I know! Europe´s freezing, for real. Bundle up, people !!! Hugs, Che PS : Linking up with Lindsay.

Monday Remix: Fave Travel Bag and Jeans

Image
Good evening, my luvlies! Pardon, I got late in my posting sched for today because real life was busy since early morning today. Anyway, do you have a favorite travel bag and jeans to wear when you travel? I do and it´s this red bag which you´ve been seeing in almost all of my travel outfit posts. What can I say, it can fit all of my things and it´s red color complements with almost every look that I wear. As for this pair of slashed jeans, I only stopped wearing this because it got very cold in here and I didn´t want to freeze my knees and joints  aka old age, lol! I wore this very casual and minimalist look when we visited Villena, Alicante( Spain) sometime in October and since I´m always late in the posting game, I only get to post it today. I love, love this dark blue cardi with a faux fur trimming at the front. It´s quite warm but quite thin for this month´s weather and so it´s now back inside my closet again. jacket - Easy Wear( El Corte Inglés) , t op , jeans...

WIWW: Dark Florals

Image
Hi, there! Continuing with our fall floral theme, here´s another look that I wore on our long weekend trip to Portugal about two weeks ago: Florals in dark tones are perfect for the autumn/fall season. It´s too bad that you can´t find this Zara dress though because this was last season´s. I bought this during the winter sales hoping to wear this this season which I did. Fact : I usually buy things ahead of season especially during the sales. They´re cheaper and you get to get ahead of the game, ;) If you´ve been following my blog, you´d know that I  rarely  wear dresses, it´s not that I don´t like them but I´m more of a mix and match type of girl and to be honest, it´s quite hard for me to remix a dress. I can do it by changing accessories but that´s just it. No pants under or skirt over it remix kind for this girl. So if I do buy one, it´s either white, denim/chambray or florals shirt dress types and I just play with what bag and shoes to combine it with. ...

WIWW: Palazzos

Image
Good morning darlings! Today I want to share with you one of my looks while travelling in Portugal last weekend. Portugal´s weather was sunny and warm, more like summery actually so I got away with wearing light textured clothes during my stay there. I´ve been meaning to wear this palazzo pants which I bought during the tail end of summer but didn´t find the occasion to wear it.  Finally I did it during the trip. :) Sorry ladies you can´t find this anymore in Zara although you can find a houndstooth and thicker version here . The desciption says checkered but I think it´s houndstooth. ;) I wore this on our second day in Viseu while visiting the cathedral. Here are some shots that we took while at at the cloister: and then to end the day we visited the castle ruins of one of the towns here. Portugal is replete with old castles or what was left of them. Usually it was an old part of the walls or the towers although some of them are intact. Nevertheless, it´s fun getting...

WIWW: Pink Gingham

Image
Hi, there! So what do you wear when you visit old castles on a very hot day like  30ºC+ hot? I opt for a pair of shorts and a really flowy cotton top for comfort while walking non-stop and climbing steep stairs. A good walking shoes helps too and as for the top, I don´t go for sleeveless not only because I have flabby arms( hehe!) but I don´t want to get sunburned. So I always go for tops with sleeves. Lately, I´m favoring gingham tops. It´s  a plus that it´s in a shade of light pink and pleated at the back. I love tops with quirky details be it a pocket, buttons or pleats. This sort of fits the bill. While a lot of women like wearing dresses during summer, I always go for shorts. I don´t have a thigh gap so you can´t imagine how icky it feels when your sweaty inner thighs rub each other as you walk (TMI sorry ) and with shorts/jeans that solves the problem. :) gingham top, slip ons, sunglasses- Massimo Dutti, shorts(old)- Bershka, So what´s your go...

Monday Remix: Chambray Top

Image
Good morning all! I´m finally back from my almost a month long summer vacation. It was tiring, very hot except for the last week which was rainy but it was worth it. This also explains my blogging silence these past days. ;) Here are some what I wore pics in one of my trips. Pardon the photo quality, I had to crop most of these because these were taken at a very far distance.  I have totally embraced the minimalist dressing philosophy in my life and I´m so happy with it. It´s so comfy, no fuss, easy to wear and combine and with clean lines, things that I always look for in every outfit that I wear to fit my very casual and laid back lifestyle. Since our vacation involves lots of walking under the very hot sun, a comfortable pair of shoes is a must. These sandals never failed me and not even a blister on it´s first wear! How great is that. ;)  I love and hoard chambray tops. For those extra hot days, I always opt for short sleeves like this and it goes well wit...

Flyday Fridays: Aranjuez Palace Garden

Image
Hello, luvlies ! Today´s Flyday Fridays edition is brought to you by the Aranjuez Palace which is about 20 to 25 minutes by train from the capital city of Madrid. I have visited this palace about five years ago, a must if classic artwork and architecture is your thing. There´s also a free view of the wedding gowns of  the Royal princesses and Queen Letizia as an added bonus to the visit. I didn´t get to see the palace gardens back then and so this time, we went straight to them and skipped the palace tour. The weather was fiery hot(pun intended) and so I wore my thinnest cotton shirt with a colorful summery print, shorts, sandals and my ever reliable light tote to store my water and sun screen. I forgot to bring a hat and it was so hot, ooops! The garden beside the palace is called ¨ La Isla¨ (Isle Garden) with lovely evergreen topiaries, a mini forest and with beautiful water fountains in classical Greek style. It was so hot that I was tempted to take a dip in...
