Flyday Fridays: Lamego(Portugal)

Image
So it´s Flyday Fridays once again in the blog. Just the other day, I was telling you to have fun this week and look, it´s almost weekend already. How time flies, no? ;) Here are some pics from our wedding anniversary trip last spring at the Duoro region in Portugal. First stop was Lamego, a small town of the Viseu district. This place has a beautiful gothic cathedral which has a well preserved square tower. But what Lamego is famous for is it´s Santuario de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios , a rococo style edifice and garden which  were built in the 1800s. The original chapel was built on top of the hill  in 1391 but was demolished in 1568. The church which you can see at the top of the photo was built in 1750 and finished in the 1900s. I´ve forgotten how many steps there are to the top but for those ( me, included ) who prefers the easy way to the top through a car , there´s a paved road which leads you right to the side of the church. This is how the church looks like under th

WIWW: Autumn Blue

Image
Hi, all! You know the works come autumn, everything becomes darker, colorful and more vivid as the leaves turn from green to red. I just dressed a tad  ahead with this electric blue skirt.   I called this prussian blue last year, hehe. Since I can´t find anything blogworthy to pair with this skirt, I thought of this chambray shirt which you´ve seen a gazillion times in the blog already. My go-to top when in doubt. I´m sure you have that top/dress/skirt/pants too! Here´s  one last shot before I go, pardon the smug face, I just wanna run out of there because people are starting to stare at me, lol! A   wanna be streetstyle blogger´s dilemma: taking photos in a a public place , hehe. chambray top - thrifted, skirt - Stradivarius, clutch , necklace and shoe s - Blanco Today´s a Wednesday, I´m linking up with Style Elixir´s Style Sessions , Kiwi Women Style´s Wardrobe Wednesday and The Pleated Poppy´s What I Wore Wednesday  and Vodka Infused Lemonade´s Tres-Chi

Someday... someday, I´m gonna get yah. ;) 3. Where do you see yourself  5 years from now? Working as a tourist guide in my adoptive city, I hope. :) 4. If you are given a free trip to any part of the world, where would you go and why? If it were not for the security problem, it would be Egypt to see the pyramids. Another option is the Angkor Wat in Cambodia because I love to go to very old places rich with with

Flyday Fridays: To and From Saint James

Image
First, my train outfit and a smile! ;) If you´d like to visit Spain during summer without getting fried from the sun, go up north and since we´re from the north, we go northwest to Galicia. Up there, the weather´s a lot cooler than say the 40ºC south. We used Saint James( Santiago in Spanish) of Compostela, as a base and then from there we hopped on trains to visit the different provinces of the Galician region. Saint James is the final destination of the pilgrims and it´s cathedral is impressive, inside and out. I spent my first nigt at Saint James with a glass of Rebeiro wine, the other famous white wine of Galicia: and just before I go, the customary photo in front of the cathedral: top - Bershka(old), skinny jeans- Primark, bag - Tous I´ve already started posting my Galician trip this summer. See the first post here about Vigo . :) So how are you doin´ out there? I´m linking up with Lena B . and Rachel for Passion for Fashion. Enjoy your weekened ahead!

WIWW: LDD (Little Denim Dress)

Image
Hola, hola! :) It´s amazing how denim goes a long way. Do you know that this sturdy fabric was first produced in Nimes in France, hence the name¨denim¨, meaning de (from) Nime? Then Levi Strauss with tailor Jacob Davis made it popular by making jeans out of it and the rest is history.  Today, there a lot of clothing that can be made from denim aside from jeans and one of them is the denim dress. I love denim dresses, I think I already have three! I have this dress since two years ago and since then, it´s my go-to dress aside from my dress shirt whenever I want to wear a dress. Casual and no-fuss, perfect for my no-frills lifestyle. :) These sandals are one of the four pairs of shoes I brought from my tropical vacay, they´re so comfy and were on sale too! The bag was an afterthought ¨buy¨ while I was buying a shawl for my mother-in-law. It only cost me about 2.30 euros. It´s colorful, packs a lot and is very light.Wise buy, no? denim dress- Blanco, sandals-

Anything Goes Monday: Picnic by the Lake

Image
Hey, y´all! Do you know how to have a good time without spending a lot? ;) top - Blanco , shorts - Bershka, sandals -Primark, bag -Misako Have a picnic right there in your own backyard! Just whip up some homemade sandwiches, some fruits and veggies which are great for the skin and if you crave for something to munch on  have it baked not fried. If you´re super lucky, have your little fiesta by the beach near your place. As for us, we´re not that luckyto have the beach nearby but we have a really beautiful lake to spend the afternoon whiling away.  So wat are you waiting for? Go out and have fun! :) Happy Monday, all! :) Hugs, Che

Flyday Fridays: Hello, Vigo!

Image
The perfect summer outfit: Shorts, a loose top, small bag which can pack a punch and flat sandals for lots of walking. ;) Vigo is not only the largest city of the Galician region of Spain but also a very important industrial, cultural and touristic city. You can never leave Vigo without paying homage first to El Sireno ( the Merman), the most emblematic monument of modern Vigo. It´s located at the Porta do Sol, the city´s center . After visiting the museums and shops, pass by the Mercado da Piedra to buy some cute trinkets as souvenirs and just a few steps away, have some fresh oysters at the Calle de las Ostras . This is my third time in Vigo but on my first and second visit, the hubz and I were having second thoughts on eating crude seafood ( we liked it cooked, thank you!) so we passed on the idea   but boy, we´re in for a delightful surprise! These seemingly unpalatable babies were so delicioso , I wanted to eat a dozen, hahaha! They´re best eaten with

WIWW: Mili Summer

Image
Hello, hello! And I was gone again without saying goodbye, sowiiii ! ;) top - Zara, skirt - New Yorker, sandals - Foreva, bag -Longchamp It´s vacation month for the hub z and so we went on a long weekend trip to the western part of Spain, Galicia. We stayed at Santiago (St. James) de Compostela and from there we visited the other provinces as well. Please watch out for more Galician stories soon. In the meantime, here´s what I wore on the 2nd day of the trip: I saw this green shirt on the winter sales at the beginning of this year but kept it until I found the perfect skirt and sandals for it. So there goes my casual summer mili look, do you dig the military style? And hey, my outfit matches with the one of the art exhibits at the Galician Center for Contemporay Art so I had to have my photo taken with it. :) So where have you been these days? It´s a Wednesday, I´m linking up with Style Elixir´s Style Sessions , Kiwi Women Style´s Wardrobe Wednesday  and
