Flyday Fridays: Lamego(Portugal)
So it´s Flyday Fridays once again in the blog. Just the other day, I was telling you to have fun this week and look, it´s almost weekend already. How time flies, no? ;)
Here are some pics from our wedding anniversary trip last spring at the Duoro region in Portugal. First stop was Lamego, a small town of the Viseu district. This place has a beautiful gothic cathedral which has a well preserved square tower.
But what Lamego is famous for is it´s Santuario de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios, a rococo style edifice and garden which were built in the 1800s. The original chapel was built on top of the hill in 1391 but was demolished in 1568. The church which you can see at the top of the photo was built in 1750 and finished in the 1900s. I´ve forgotten how many steps there are to the top but for those( me, included) who prefers the easy way to the top through a car, there´s a paved road which leads you right to the side of the church.
This is how the church looks like under the midday sun:
Just below, you can see the town´s skyline. Impressive by theway. :)
Some old statues surrounding the garden which reminds me of those old adventure films in the past:
That´s me going downstairs to admire the view. This place is super nice!
Here´s what I wore on that day:
It was chilly when we started travelling, so I wore a light sweater over an all black ensemble. I just accessorized with a starfish ring, a ribboned bangle and my favorite pink leather bracelet. Hey, don´t you know that pink is a hot color this autumn? I´m glad I´m wearing pink these days! ;)
There goes another photo bombing session with you, join me next week for another Flyday Friday episode on the blog.
