Dressing Up For Me

  Hi, everyone! Yup,it´s been quite a while. I´ve no excuses for the 2+ years of hiatus except that real life took over completely the blogging life. So many things have happened since then and I hope that starting this year, I can give more time to this little corner of mine for some travel and other updates about life lately.  It´s been forever since I´ve updated this blog of mine. So just to give you an update of where I´ve been and what I´ve been doing, I´m still here in my tiny corner of the world and visiting high places( as in mountains) and traipsing around vineyards just before the wine season is about to start. With international travel getting a bit complicated due to the you know what, I´ve learned to appreciate and be contented with what´s right in our own backyard. I´ve always been a nature lover through and through and so travelling to big urban jungles isn´t a big deal for me. The city where I live is full of parks and surrounded by mountains and just a little less than an hour, you can also visit the vineyards for free because they´re just along the highway. As for the wine tasting, that, you have to pay though.;) We took these pics at the beginning of summer where the grapes look like tiny little dots yet. It´s been more than a year (  13 months since my last post exactly) since I´ve left this blog. I never thought that I would go back to blogging again. To be honest with you, I lost my interest in the hobby. Then I got hooked on watching You Tube fashion and lifestyle channels on my couch most of my spare time. I know it isn´t a healthy habit but it relaxes my mind, lol! Then sh*t literally hit the fan in  the beginning of March and as for the rest of the story... we all know how it ended. So with nothing to do except do the daily mundane chores and watch more You Tube videos, I decided to visit this forgotten little nook again and sort of pick-up what I´ve left before. Hello, everyone! The spring weather has finally arrived on my doorstep and so I´m wearing spring- y  outfits these days. One thing that I´m really loving are straight leg jeans. I´m a convert since last year and it´s the best decision ever. For somebody whose got thick calves, straight leg jeans are a breather to wear and they´re the comfiest style aside from culottes, IMHO! Moreover, they go well with sneakers, sock boots, heels, flats and even mules. I´d wouldn´t say never again to skinny jeans but for now, the straight leg style is my current go-to. Hello, everyone! Here´s a lone snippet of what I wore about two weeks ago. The weather´s turn spring- y to an even summery temperature today and so it looks like winter has gone for good. So consider this a fitting farewell outfit to winter 2018-2019. ;) coat- Pull&Bear, jeans- mango, booties- Zara, bag- Zara The tonal look is a huge trend this year and being a vertically challenged girl that I am, I welcome this trend with open and willing arms.😁 FACT: All of the items that I´m wearing are from the current sales except for the booties which I´ve had for two years now. Hello, peeps! So it´s another week again of nothing but rain in my city, how boring. I would have preferred if it snowed for some landscape change but, nah , it´s rain all the way, girl! On top of that, I got sick last week and wore nothing but pajamas and so this look was the only redeeming factor for the whole week last week: Yep, I got `dressed up´ because I went to do the groceries. If it weren´t for an empty pantry, I can´t be bothered to change into anything. Since I´m a die hard fan of the tonal look ( vertically challenged girl, here), I opted for an all-gray look. I´ve always been partial to gray, it´s one of my go to colors aside from black and blue.  Hello, my loves! Yep, it´s been half a year since I´ve been gone. As usual, real life got in the way with virtual life ( although I wasn´t really very active with virtual life to begin with, oops!) . Anyhoo,   here´s just to give you  a heads up that I´m still alive and kicking and even if I may  be not upgrading the blog with new posts for a very lo ooong time, I´m still on trend with the, uh, trends . 😃 Like for example, the ubiquitous animal print aka  leopard print, I´m still wearing it. Mine though is a jacket from more than two years ago. A print like this never goes out of style and so you better stock on it. Hola, holaaa! With the ¨trending¨ hot weather nowadays, wearing a super loose bottom to feel comfy can be quite challenging for a petite girl like me. So I incorporate prints into it like stripes. Aren´t we also glad that pajama dressing is   in? Because these pants look like pajama bottoms and I´m loving it. Truth be told, these are one of my go to pants to wear this summer. They´re just so breezy, light and leg lengthening, don´t you think? Hello, hello! If there´s one piece of clothing that should be called the ONE in our closets all throughout the summer season, it´s the little white dress. I mean, duh , it´s a no brainer, right? white dress, denim jacket ( all old)- Zara, shoes - Kickers, bag - Bimba & Lola It doesn´t matter if it´s a mini, midi or maxi, short sleeved or sleeveless. A white dress is a classic, ALWAYS is . 😊 Moreover, it goes well with a denim jacket, in classic blue or even colored  when the temperature drops in the early or during late evening. And speaking of temperature drop, our summer weather is quite abnormal. Although thunderstorms normally come after a few days of consistent high temperature ( not reaching more than 30ºC though), they always convert into a huge hailstorms with lots of wind and super heavy downpour. Bad, really bad. At least we have a lot of cool days too and so I´m not complaining much.  So, do you have a little white dress stashed in your closet ...

Howdy! Do you still mix prints? I still do! top, culottes and shoes- Zara, tote ba g- Mango, necklace - Bimba & Lola, sunglasses - Massimo Dutti Although summer is in full swing right now, there are still days where the temperature drops to  21ºC maximum and so I can get by wearing a light knitted top over anything,; a pair of jeans, skirt or in this case my good ole  cullotes from three seasons ago. I just make sure that the colors/ color motiff blend with each other, in this case, I mix a black and white striped top with a same colored color combo of chevron prints at the bottom and there you go! I stayed with the two-color theme by wearing black Mary Janes and a black tote bag for a more harmonious ensemble but accented it with a shell necklace from Bimba & Lola which was scored from the sales about three years ago. Good morning, everyone! :) Let´s bring it out there, I can´t just get over this pair of wide leg jeans/ culottes. Now, we both know that I´m very petite and culottes or  extremely flared bottoms are not quite aesthetically pleasing for a vertically challenged gal  like me but who cares? When you´re a jean fanatic like I am and it´s so hot out there, wouldn´t a flowy pair of denim be the best alternative? ;) This pair came out pretty high-rise and so pairing the right top for it is quite tricky. I´m glad that I still have this old gingham top from three years ago,  et voila , problem solved! Hello, hellooo!!!! I haven´t given you a proper welcome for summer but hey, we´re still in the middle of it, right? ;) Anyway, with the temperature slowly rising by the day and dropping a little during the night, I tend to favor wearing just a plain tees and softly textured jeans. My favorite color nowadays is marigold. Now if that color doesn´t scream summer, I don´t know what does. If by chance, you´ve been following my sporadic posts for a number of years, you would´ve known by now that my style choices have changed drastically from too colorful to too plain, hahaha! Don´t get me wrong, I still wear color from time to time although a lot of them doesn´t get documented here for some reason aka  no time to edit and post,oops! About two weeks ago, a friend of mine invited the hubz and I to her son´s First Holy Communion. Now if you´re catholic and live here in Spain, this is a big  deal. The people here treat it like a mini-wedding and is strictly a family affair. So we´re more than happy that my friend and her family decided to share this special occasion with us together with a couple of common friends. This was what I wore: I´m not a ¨dress-y¨ type of gal, per se. Do shirts/ denim dresses, count? They´re usually what you´ll find inside my wardrobe. 😃😃😃 To be honest, I think I only have  three which I consider real dresses and this one which was a sales find last summer which I didn´t get to wear until now. We celebrated our wedding anniversary last weekend. Since I opted not to cook at home this year, we went out for lunch on a typical spring day: rainy, windy and with some snippets of sun in between. Ya know the drill. Thinking that we´ll be staying indoors most of the time, I didn´t bother bringing a jacket with me and just put on this thin cardigan over my long sleeved floral top. Ooops, BAD. When we went out of the restaurant, it was raining hard, the wind was wild and the temperature dropped.. a lot.  It´s a miracle that the hub z  was able to take these photos of me on the street as  I shivered my way to our parked car! The car was about 10 kilometers away, just kidding,it´s only about 50 metres away, lol. Hello, everyone! It´s been a while, I know.😄 After a couple of months of hiatus(as usual), I finally got to edit some photos for the blog. Everything that I´m wearing here are not new except for the dotted top: I haven´t been catching on with the trends (clotheswise ) this season because I found out that I´ve got most of them all along in my closet (spring cleaning does that) and so I just buy pieces that really catch my eye like this flowy top: The top´s got billowy sleeves which is quite tricky to wear when you have short and chubby arms but hey, you´ve got to think out of the box and make things work in the name of fashion, right? ;) I just made sure that the dots aren´t big enough to drown my petite size and the top loose enough to skim over that muffin top that just keeps on growing by the year. Hi, everyone! How time flies! We´re almost at the end of the 3rd month of 2018 and yet, I¨m still posting photos from 2017(lol!). I got so busy( as usual) and didn´t get to get to edit these photos when the hubz and I went on a weekend trip to Madrid last December. Finally, here are some of the pics taken from the street of El Matadero, a slaughterhouse complex converted into a center for the creation of Contemporary Arts: Before posting some more OOTD pics, can we just take  a moment to admire this ¨mod¨ design of our hotel room? I love the no-fuss minimalist design and pastel color combo which I find so clean and refreshing. The last time we stayed in this hotel was about six to seven years ago and the room deco wasn´t like this at all! With a change of management and some interior renovation, the room turned out like this. I can´t say though if all of the rooms are refurbished like this  ( I´ve only stayed in one) but I´m loving it! The hotel´s name is the Weare Hot...
