Summer Essentials

These super hot days, I never go out without  4 things: my hat, dark sunglasses, a pair of open toed sandals and lots of sunscreen. I´ve discovered that wearing a hat is much cooler and more chic only last summer. Years before that I use an umbrella. Seriously.


The dark sunglasses serve me 2 things: to shield my eyes from the glaring sunlight and to hide my ever growing eyebags, a  lovingly inherited feature  from my Mom´s side of the family. That´s aside from my height and my barely their nose. lol!


In summer, I only use 2 kinds of footwear, flip flops and open toed flat sandals. It´s time to give our lovely footsies a breather, dahlings! Besides, it´s too hot to cover your feet.


Lastly, lots of sunscreen SPF 50. On the face, arms and even on the feet! And hey, you should apply it very 2 hours at least even if you´re not on the beach nor by the pool but just having a lovely time somewhere in the park or in the street.


And one more thing, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Cola doesn´t count nor does cafe latte or whatevs from Starbucks. Plain water will do. It´s much cheaper and has zero calories. :)

ate che i have same hat pero usahay mgsingot akong ulo sa kalo.mao somtimes i prefer payong :(. pero sometimes i wear it for styling purposes.lol.misu! :D

Perfect summer essentials. I love dark sunglasses so I don't have to wear any make up either. And I need a new fedora hat.

I drink a lot of water too. Nothing else comes close to quenching my thirst. Love the bag. Must remember a hat when summer comer around here.

Oh my where to begin! It's been so hot here in Dallas we've had 30 days straight of weather in the 3 digits -- a record in 50 years! And it's funny I complain because I'm only here on the weekdays! In any case, I NEED a hat that fits me nicely!

You look great! Oh and if I may add, shorts is a staple in the summer too! :D

Hello there Che! its so nice reading about your summer essentials...as for me, my summer essentials are: my SPF 100+ sunblock, sun glasses, and my ultimate summer staple wear: shorts with any comfy top. :) i love the idea of you wearing a hat! its a must try!

shirt dress converted to top - Zara ( from the sales last year) Lately, I´ve discovered that the extra pounds that I´ve unconsciously piled over the past years have finally settled comfortably on my face. Flyday Fridays: Paris (part 1)

The first time I went to Paris was in early spring. It was raining and gloomy but that didn´t stop me from falling in love with this romantic city. Here are some things to do and places to visit when you´re in Pa-gheee . ;) 1, 2, 3: Get lost inside le Louvre,  pass by   Mona Lisa´s room and get mesmerized by her coy smile and if you like ancient jewelry, be enthralled by the museum´s jewelry collection. Even the bishop´s crozier is bejeweled! 4: Admire the Sainte Chapelle´s amazing ceiling, structure and colorful stained glass windows. 5,6: Fall in line (entrance is free!) and admire the sculpture and stained windows of the Notre Dame. By this time you´re very tired and so take a rest at the park/garden at the back of the church. Later you can cross the small bridge and have your lunch at one of the numerous creperies and restaurants in the small island. 7,8: After a light lunch, take the metro and go to Montmartre and visit the Sacré Coeur....

Skirting the Issue

Halooo! So how´s your weekend? ;) Mine was spent visiting the new flat ( we just had the new sofa delivered, yey!) and last Saturday we went to this mini-food fair where they sell lots of goodies. I tasted some chorizos, jamon serrano, and a glass of white wine too. Too bad I forgot to take the camera so no photos to show you but we brought home some sweets which unfortunately we also gobbled up during the weekend. hihihi! At least I´ve spared you from breaking your diets this summer. ;) Truth be told, I don´t look good wearing high waisted skirts because I have wide hips ( I´m good at hiding them here ;) . Maybe I could pull off wearing them 10 yrs. ago when I still have a slimmer silhouette, er, smaller waistine and hips and a flatter middle but now everything especially my hips are expanding faster like the speed of light.
