WIWW: Smocked Dress

Have you worn a smocked dress when you´re younger, like little girl young? They´re stretchy on the top and flowy down below which also makes a perfect summer and even Sunday dress for kids.  My Mom used to buy me smocked dresses and I loved wearing them.So when I saw this cute smocked dress on sale in the summer sales last year, I just had to grab it  because it brings back those happy childhood memories that I had when I was a kid.

I love the print too and the color combination which makes a great summer dress. The problem with this dress though is that the smocking extends  below the waistline making me look ¨preggo¨ because of the flare just above my tummy. No worries there, I love this dress just the same because it´s so comfy! :)

The smocked top also looks great with maxi dresses too. I´m sure you´ve seen this style on dresses and even on tops. It´s so pretty! So would you wear anything with smocking?

I don't think I ever wore those as a child because I was such a tomboy and refused to wear dresses. lol. Now that I've grown up, I should give them a try :)

shirt dress converted to top - Zara ( from the sales last year) Lately, I´ve discovered that the extra pounds that I´ve unconsciously piled over the past years have finally settled comfortably on my face. Flyday Fridays: Paris (part 1)

The first time I went to Paris was in early spring. It was raining and gloomy but that didn´t stop me from falling in love with this romantic city. Here are some things to do and places to visit when you´re in Pa-gheee . ;) 1, 2, 3: Get lost inside le Louvre,  pass by   Mona Lisa´s room and get mesmerized by her coy smile and if you like ancient jewelry, be enthralled by the museum´s jewelry collection. Even the bishop´s crozier is bejeweled! 4: Admire the Sainte Chapelle´s amazing ceiling, structure and colorful stained glass windows. 5,6: Fall in line (entrance is free!) and admire the sculpture and stained windows of the Notre Dame. By this time you´re very tired and so take a rest at the park/garden at the back of the church. Later you can cross the small bridge and have your lunch at one of the numerous creperies and restaurants in the small island. 7,8: After a light lunch, take the metro and go to Montmartre and visit the Sacré Coeur....

Skirting the Issue

Halooo! So how´s your weekend? ;) Mine was spent visiting the new flat ( we just had the new sofa delivered, yey!) and last Saturday we went to this mini-food fair where they sell lots of goodies. I tasted some chorizos, jamon serrano, and a glass of white wine too. Too bad I forgot to take the camera so no photos to show you but we brought home some sweets which unfortunately we also gobbled up during the weekend. hihihi! At least I´ve spared you from breaking your diets this summer. ;) Truth be told, I don´t look good wearing high waisted skirts because I have wide hips ( I´m good at hiding them here ;) . Maybe I could pull off wearing them 10 yrs. ago when I still have a slimmer silhouette, er, smaller waistine and hips and a flatter middle but now everything especially my hips are expanding faster like the speed of light.
