Flyday Fridays: Paris (Part 3)
Paris isn´t only for sight-seeing, it´s also a shopper´s paradise. If you have moolah to spend and go on a shopping spree like there´s no tomorrow, this place is it especially during the sales season! Anyway, on my first visit to Paris, I chanced upon Bon Marché after visiting the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal at 140 rue du bac. It´s just a walking distance from the place. Nice but not that impressive. Then I also get to visit Printemps, one of the most famous department stores in France which is another beautiful store but the icing of my window shopping adventure was seeing the flagship store of the Galeries Lafayette for the first time. It´s amazing!
This place makes me feel like a kid once again. It´s so charming and it´s the epitome of French chicness! :)
There were a lot of designer brands to choose from especially in the shoes, jewelry, scents, cosmetics and bags section but since I´m on a limited shopping budget, I dropped by Longchamp instead and bought this lavender shade beauty, the perfect color for spring.
I also met a fellow traveller who flew in from London. She only went to Paris to do one thing, eat escargot aka land snails, lol! I´m not really sure if she did find a French restaurant who serves escargot( I´m sure there are a lot in Paris) but she did recommend me to buy and try these Godiva chocolates:
Boy, she´s right! These Belgian chocolates tasted heavenly and are one of the yummiest chocolates that I´ve ever tasted in my life! Until now, I still can´t believe that I resisted opening this box until we arrived in Spain, hahaha!
Anyway, if you want to move from one store to the next without changing streets, it´s best to pass by Avenue des Champs-Élysées. It has restaurants, the flagship store of Louis Vuitton:
Ladurée´s tea room and pastry shop and a lot of things more.
Here´s a photo of me in my purple poncho taken almost three years ago while admiring the display window of the Louis Vuitton store from the outside:
The poncho´s gone but the Paris nostalgia remains in my heart. ;)
Bisous!
