OOTD at the Vatican

Hi, everyone! I´m still here. ;)

Second day of my Italian trip was at the Vatican. Part of the day´s itinerary was a visit to the famous Sistine Chapel and so no above the knee skirts nor shorts nor spaghetti/tube tops( unless you´ll also wear a shawl ) for me inspite of the extremely hot weather in Rome. Madre mía, it´s boiling out there!

By the way, I painted my nails burgundy. I never thought it matches well with my raspberry colored bag and it´s also autumn 2012´s color too. If you want to be trendy but don´t want to spend a lot, I suggest you  start with nail color because it´s quite expensive to be IN all the time!

So this was what I wore and I´m glad I did because my legs and arms didn´t get sunburned for one day.

Can´t help but take a photo of the Swiss guards. They´re like the Vatican version of the Buckingham Palace guards sans the ¨guard changing fanfare¨  done by the British. ;)

Perfect outfit! I love the color combination, btw, where did you get your tunic (i love them)? We were in Italy 2 yrs ago (february)Rome & Vatican but it was freezing cold kc we never expect that na mag i snow and we aren't properly dressed... bad luck!

shirt dress converted to top - Zara ( from the sales last year) Lately, I´ve discovered that the extra pounds that I´ve unconsciously piled over the past years have finally settled comfortably on my face. Flyday Fridays: Paris (part 1)

The first time I went to Paris was in early spring. It was raining and gloomy but that didn´t stop me from falling in love with this romantic city. Here are some things to do and places to visit when you´re in Pa-gheee . ;) 1, 2, 3: Get lost inside le Louvre,  pass by   Mona Lisa´s room and get mesmerized by her coy smile and if you like ancient jewelry, be enthralled by the museum´s jewelry collection. Even the bishop´s crozier is bejeweled! 4: Admire the Sainte Chapelle´s amazing ceiling, structure and colorful stained glass windows. 5,6: Fall in line (entrance is free!) and admire the sculpture and stained windows of the Notre Dame. By this time you´re very tired and so take a rest at the park/garden at the back of the church. Later you can cross the small bridge and have your lunch at one of the numerous creperies and restaurants in the small island. 7,8: After a light lunch, take the metro and go to Montmartre and visit the Sacré Coeur....

Skirting the Issue

Halooo! So how´s your weekend? ;) Mine was spent visiting the new flat ( we just had the new sofa delivered, yey!) and last Saturday we went to this mini-food fair where they sell lots of goodies. I tasted some chorizos, jamon serrano, and a glass of white wine too. Too bad I forgot to take the camera so no photos to show you but we brought home some sweets which unfortunately we also gobbled up during the weekend. hihihi! At least I´ve spared you from breaking your diets this summer. ;) Truth be told, I don´t look good wearing high waisted skirts because I have wide hips ( I´m good at hiding them here ;) . Maybe I could pull off wearing them 10 yrs. ago when I still have a slimmer silhouette, er, smaller waistine and hips and a flatter middle but now everything especially my hips are expanding faster like the speed of light.
