Monday Remix: The Corduroy Skirt

Here´s another casual and summery look to start the week right: red stripes for a top, blue colored corduroy skirt, a tan colored bag and sandals and Panama hat to cap off my nautical inspired look. Such a no-fuss combination, isn´t it? ;)

Throw in a studded leather bangle and an assortment of other bracelets on the other hand and we´re done! My feet always swell when it´s hot  outside and so I make sure that I´m wearing open-toed sandals so that it can breathe especially the toes.

Summer is my favorite season to dress up because you don´t need to layer a lot of things (except that jacket/cardigan for those chilly mornings and evenings) to keep you warm because it´s already hot AND I don´t need to worry about stacking my bangles and bracelets because they won´t get snagged. Practical thinking, no?

As for the corduroy skirt, I first wore this last year at the beginning of summer. As usual I forgot about it, then the other day while my arranging my summer clothes, I re-discovered this royal blue number stuck between my summer shorts.We hooked up again. ;) Corduroys have  come a long way from those thick fabrics used for jackets and pants and winter skirts to lighter and breathable fabrics which can be worn all summer long. Try having one!

Today is the beginning of another week where summer´s about to end. How time flies! Have you had your vacation yet? Plan it now while there´s some sun!

You know, I actually own a pair of corduroy skirt, only a blazer! This fits your shape very well and both outfits are cute. I especially love that hat you are rocking.

I love that first outfit. It is sort of Americana, sort of French Riviera. I pinned it. You are right Summer will be over soon. We are scheduling a vacation for the first week of September, we will see. =)

The first time I went to Paris was in early spring. It was raining and gloomy but that didn´t stop me from falling in love with this romantic city. Here are some things to do and places to visit when you´re in Pa-gheee . ;) 1, 2, 3: Get lost inside le Louvre,  pass by   Mona Lisa´s room and get mesmerized by her coy smile and if you like ancient jewelry, be enthralled by the museum´s jewelry collection. Monday Remix: Winter White and Teal

Hi, y´all! So here I am again, posing in front of my kitchen door. My photographer aka the hub z  isn´t available today and so I´m back shooting in my kitchen(again), I hope you don´t mind! ;) Here´s another winter white version with an ivory top which you´ve already seen me wear here in the blog and my favorite white pants. The furry clutch in teal is another recent addition to my growing clutch collection which doesn´t seem to stop, ooops ! I would like to call this as my winter farewell outfit although technically spring starts on the 3rd week of  March and snow´s coming this week. ;) top and clutch - Zara, pants- Pimkie, shoes- local store I´ve worn the top here: And the pants here: and with this black/white Mango sweater which accidentaly went into the hubby´s church donation pile early last year. Cheesecake, anyone?

shirt dress converted to top - Zara ( from the sales last year) Lately, I´ve discovered that the extra pounds that I´ve unconsciously piled over the past years have finally settled comfortably on my face. I´m going to hide my face for now. ;) Do you have a wgi (weight gain indicator and I made this up)  in your body? I do and it´s my face (aside from the muffin top). hehe!;) earrings - bazaar (Phils.) I love shirt dresses. They´re loose and they basically hide anything that you wanted to hide. Know what I mean? ;) One bad thing about this particular dress shirt though is the fit. It´s too loose, a bit short and it doesn´t look good with my mini ... and so a lot of rolling and folding was done to achieve the  laid back look that I wanted to create . That´s me rolling and folding below. ;) I´m just kidding about hiding my face. Here it is... and yes, my face is so healthy, no? :) Say hello to the weight gain culprit ! My guilt...
