San Sebastian by Night

Kaixo!

Remember about my 2nd to the last post about me debuting my red bag in San Sebastian? Well, here are some night shots for you. ;)

Hotel Maria Christina

San Sebastian for me is like the Hamptons but in the Spanish Basque Country. There is a preconceived idea that the people living in San Sebastian are, ah... snooty compared to those who live in the other two capital cities of the region but I don´t know if this is really true. ;)  What I can say though is that generally it´s a city filled with refined people. It has lots of excellent bars which serve one the best pinchos/ tapas in Spain, gorgeous beaches and is a city who loves the arts to a T. That´s why it´s being nominated as the Culture Capital of Europe for 2016. Don´t worry, if you´re a tourist the people there would willingly help you if you get lost. They´re quite friendly and so proud of their city. :)

Below is the Victoria Eugenia Theather where they usually hold the world renown San Sebastian   International Film Festival every September. Famous directors such as Orson Welles, FrancisFord Copolla, Pedro Almodóvar and Steven Spelberg have already graced this theater. Also actresses Elizabeth Taylor, Susan Sarandon, Demi Moore, Charlize Theron and actors Al Pacino, Franco Robert de Niro, Sean Penn, etc. came to visit this place over time during the festival period. In 2008, they gave a Lifetime Achievement Award to Meryl Streep.

There are so many things to show about San Sebastian. Will tell you about them the next time we visit this city and hopefully with clearer pictures to boot too. ;)

In the meantime, I´m leaving you a photo of me in La Concha while watching the daily fireworks from the beach during the weeklong fiesta.
