Bows and Blings

The first thing that I look for inside museums is their jewelry collection. A museum´s jewelry collection aside from the paintings or sculptures is like a personal gauge (for me) if it´s worth visiting or not.What I saw in Lisbon didn´t disappoint me at all. The jewelry collection was so prettily crafted, intricate and more than 600 years old! I gave it a three thumbs up! ;)

Here´s my humble tribute:


A star flower and bow ring which I´ve had for almost a decade now. This is part of a jewelry set whose diamonds came from a tennis bracelet which was re-designed/ reset into flowers and bows (the star flower design is a classic trend back then) before it was sold to me. Whoa, that was  a mouthful! My bow bling may be much simpler but I love it just the same. :)

Speaking more about bows, here´s my bow shirt which I bought from the Zara summer sales last month which I promptly debuted in my Lisbon trip.hahaha!


Sorry for the unflaterring photo, I promise to style this top better the next time.This was taken in one of those Lisbon metro station´s walls. They have one of the best artsy metro station walls in this side of the world, I´m missing them right now.

that wall goes so well with your shirt. i have a similar flower ring without the bow. i keep my gold jewelries for yearsss too.

btw, kasama ko yung tatay ko sa plane, he travelered from another state to here tapos sabay kami punta sa pinas so di naman masyadong mahirap sa bags saka isang handcarry at isang baggage lang dala ko papunta.

Skirting the Issue

Halooo! So how´s your weekend? ;) Mine was spent visiting the new flat ( we just had the new sofa delivered, yey!) and last Saturday we went to this mini-food fair where they sell lots of goodies. I tasted some chorizos, jamon serrano, and a glass of white wine too. Too bad I forgot to take the camera so no photos to show you but we brought home some sweets which unfortunately we also gobbled up during the weekend. hihihi! At least I´ve spared you from breaking your diets this summer. ;) Truth be told, I don´t look good wearing high waisted skirts because I have wide hips ( I´m good at hiding them here ;) . Maybe I could pull off wearing them 10 yrs. ago when I still have a slimmer silhouette, er, smaller waistine and hips and a flatter middle but now everything especially my hips are expanding faster like the speed of light. Flyday Fridays: Paris (part 1)

The first time I went to Paris was in early spring. It was raining and gloomy but that didn´t stop me from falling in love with this romantic city. Here are some things to do and places to visit when you´re in Pa-gheee . ;) 1, 2, 3: Get lost inside le Louvre,  pass by   Mona Lisa´s room and get mesmerized by her coy smile and if you like ancient jewelry, be enthralled by the museum´s jewelry collection. Even the bishop´s crozier is bejeweled! 4: Admire the Sainte Chapelle´s amazing ceiling, structure and colorful stained glass windows. 5,6: Fall in line (entrance is free!) and admire the sculpture and stained windows of the Notre Dame. By this time you´re very tired and so take a rest at the park/garden at the back of the church. Later you can cross the small bridge and have your lunch at one of the numerous creperies and restaurants in the small island. 7,8: After a light lunch, take the metro and go to Montmartre and visit the Sacré Coeur.
