WIWW: The Tonal Look

Image
Hello, peeps! So it´s another week again of nothing but rain in my city, how boring. I would have preferred if it snowed for some landscape change but, nah , it´s rain all the way, girl! On top of that, I got sick last week and wore nothing but pajamas and so this look was the only redeeming factor for the whole week last week: Yep, I got `dressed up´ because I went to do the groceries. If it weren´t for an empty pantry, I can´t be bothered to change into anything. Since I´m a die hard fan of the tonal look ( vertically challenged girl, here), I opted for an all-gray look. I´ve always been partial to gray, it´s one of my go to colors aside from black and blue. A tonal look is quite the easy peasy combo actually, just put your varying shades of color, et voila ! coat - H&M, jeans and shoes - Zara, sweater - &OtherStories, ba g- Bimba&Lola All items from this look are old. I mean, just look at these skinny jeans, it´s like more than four years old. I can´t...

Monday Remix: Some Gingham and Wide Legs

Image
Good morning, everyone! :) Let´s bring it out there, I can´t just get over this pair of wide leg jeans/ culottes. Now, we both know that I´m very petite and culottes or  extremely flared bottoms are not quite aesthetically pleasing for a vertically challenged gal  like me but who cares? When you´re a jean fanatic like I am and it´s so hot out there, wouldn´t a flowy pair of denim be the best alternative? ;) This pair came out pretty high-rise and so pairing the right top for it is quite tricky. I´m glad that I still have this old gingham top from three years ago,  et voila , problem solved! I guess it´s time to shop for shorter tops in the sales too. #shopaholicradarison top(old) -Zara, jeans - H&M, bag - Paco Martinez, sandals - Massimo Dutti And you? What´s your fave trend this season? ;) Hugs! Che

WIWW: Color Blocking in Dusty Rose and Blue

Image
Good morning, everyone! How´s your week so far? So here I am again after a month of not posting anything, hahaha! Anyway, with all the shades of pink that has been trending this spring, I couldn´t help but pick a few tops in my favorite shade, dusty rose and pair it with a dark blue culottes: Pardon the grumpy face, we took these pics in a flash ( pun intended ) at someone´s garage door and so it was a flurry of clicks and we´re gone before  the owner can even say ¨hello and ask ¨ whatchudoin on my garage door ¨. 😅 I also upgraded my bag collection with a faux snakeskin printed cross body bag in yep, pink(and red), hehehe. Mango is killing it in the bag department lately. This season there are a lot of really cute bags with affordable prices and I was able to buy a few without breaking the bank nor waiting for the sales season. That´s great isn´t it? ;) The culottes are from Primark´s last winter sale. Although I´m loving their length, it´s a little bit big on me an...

Monday Remix: Distressed Denim and the Linen Top

Image
Hello, hello! top(old) - Massimo Dutti, shorts(on sale) - Pimkie, sandals(old) - Aldo, bag(old) - Bimba&Lola My outfit choices seem to be getting more casual everyday. I always blame it on the heat but it´s actually the laziness on my part to dress up, hahaha! Anyway, you´ve never seen me wearing distressed denim on the blog because this is one of those ¨I wouldn´t be caught dead wearing this¨  trend but like they always they say, you´ll never know if it´s good unless you try it. So I tried it and I can´t seem to stop wearing it, it´s liberating and breezy especially on a very hot day! ;) This was what I wore last weekend while having an impromptu lunch at one of our favorite bakeshop/restaurants. While thinking about whether to get an ice-cream  or not, I sat down on this bench. Did you remember this guy from last winter ? Actually we´re really close now but still, he wouldn´t talk to me and he´s still feeling smug about about it. hihi. :) As for the line...

Monday Remix: Wide Leg and Paisley

Image
Happy Monday, dears ! So how´s your weekend? I spent mine in Bilbao ( to visit a travel expo with the hubz) last Saturday! It was fun and I finally got to wear sandals although it was still chilly. Anyway, as I was trying to get rid of the junk files in my laptop, I found these pics from last year which I wasn´t able to post. The white bag´s long gone( I gave it to my sister when I spent my vacation last year in the tropics) but I´d wear this same combination anytime, anywhere. Aside from using a small bag which can also be converted as a clutch, I accessorized with a studded  leather bangle from Massimo Dutti and a tri-colored pearl ring which has become a favorite ring of mine. I like the fit of this wide leg pants because it´s forgiving and the denim is soft, not stiff. And paisley? Its not paisley season yet but it´s one of my favorite prints to collect and besides I´ve been wearing a lot of solid colors and floral prints lately so why not go against the flo...

WIWW: B/W and Stripes

Image
Hola, hola! :) These are what-I-wore pics when I had my vacation in mild- weathered Catalonia last December. After visiting the Casa Torres Winery, we also made a detour to Girona, one of the most important and bustling cities of Catalonia. I kinda held on posting these pics in winter because it wasn´t weather appropriate especially to most of you who had a terrible winter this year. ;) I missed this black skater skirt, I was looking for it the other day but I can´t seem to find it in my closet. I hope it didn´t get lost because it´s one my favorite skirts : It hugs my hips in the right places and it´s just the right length to fake long legs . The black and white top is three years old. The neckline used to be a turtleneck but I cut it to make me more comfortable around my neck. I just can´t stand wearing turtlenecks unless it´s windy or really cold and I don´t want to wear a scarf. top- Zara, skirt- bershka, bag- Longchamp le Pliage We´re back to winter mode again he...

Flyday Fridays: A Date With Elche

Image
Halloooo! Happy Friday, dahlings ! Today, I´m taking you on a date (pun intended)  to the city of Elche in Valencia, Spain. I´d like to call it as the palm tree city of Spain because of it´s more than 200,000 palm trees grown over generations. Moreover, the kilometers of palm grove was awared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000. This is just one of the main parks of the city a few meters from the train station. Of course, I had to take a posterity shot of the fountain in the background. ;) coat(old) - Sandro, button down - New Yorker, pants - Pimkie, tote bag - Longchamp le Pliage Below is the Altamira Castle originally built between the12-13th century which is now part of the Elche Archaeology and History Museum. I also found these giant figures inside the museum which are present in Spanish fiestas and are usuaully paraded around. Elche is also known  for one of the most important archaeological finds in Spain, the stone bust of ...

WIWW: ¨ Nauti¨ in Winter

Image
Happy New Year, all! :) It´s so strange not to wear boots and a thick jacket in winter but yes, I did wear light... in the southeastern part of Spain. ;) Oh well, I had to wear a coat over this in the early morning and when the sun set  because it does get cold but.. coat(old) - Sandro in-between just this: It´s been a while since I´ve worn stripes, I´ve been favoring animal print and solid colors lately but hey, horizontal stripes are slimming and look really great when paired with a dark denim jacket and red pants. Nautical´s a classic, no? denim jacket , pants - Promod, stripes top - Sfera, bag - le Pliage So how did your NY´s Eve go? I celebrated mine alone watching some of my fave Spanish actors ringing in the new year on tv while the husband had an early night because he´s sick, uh-oh! At least he got to finish most of his dinner but we weren´t able to eat the twelve grapes( New Year´s Eve Spanish custom) and drink champagne while celebrating ...

WIWW: Tartan and Black

Image
Hola, hola! :) It´s quite expensive to be on trend all the time. Would you like to know how to dress trendy without breaking the bank? Instead of buying that red tartan jacket/top/skirt you´ve been coveting this season, buy a pair of red tartan tights. It´s a lot cheaper and you´ll never worry if you´ll not be wearing it again next year because  trends come and go, ya know . ;) sweater and clutch(old )- Pimkie, skirt (old)- Bershka, necklace(old) - Blanco, tights - Primark, shoes(old) -Xti Then just pair it with anything you have in your closet, an all black palette would be perfec t. Finish off with your fave accessories and jewellery and you´re done. Easy peasy, no? ;) What´s your take on this trend? Today´s a Wednesday, I´m linking up with the Pleated Poppy´s What I Wore Wednesday , Kiwi Women Style´s Wardrobe Wednesday  and Style Elixir´s Style Sessions , Vodka Infused Lemonade´s Tres-Chic Fashion Thursday . Have fun with us! :) xoxo, Che ...

Anything Goes Monday: Double Denim and Tying Scarves

Image
Haloooo! Today on Anything Goes Monday let´s talk about how Tom Cruise is rocking the double denim trend. Like it? ;) Photo source and story here . And here´s my slightly quirky version  using a dotted chambray top: If your a follower of my WIWW posts every Wednesday, you might have already seen this look but for those who are new in the blog, here´s the complete outfit . :) As for scarf wearers and lovers out there, if you´re tired of the having the same style of tying everyday, try folding your square scarf horizontally, tie it around your neck and spread the edges like a fan like this: scarf- Bershka( SS2011) This type of tying will look best if your scarf is made of cotton/polyester so that it can hold on it´s own. For ways on how to tie a scarf in different sizes, here´s my favorite scarf tying video from the cute, lovely and funny Wendy of Wendy´s Lookbook . Enjoy and learn a lot from her, I did! :) Linking with My Greates Style´s My Style Monday ...

Anything Goes Monday: Going Green

Image
It´s official, green or to be exact emerald green is the color of the year. It´s time to do an inventory of your jewelry box and see if  you have any green jewelry lying around. I´ve just found mine! ;) Next, scour for a green top in your closet, you don´t have to buy a new one if you already have them. Just mix and match with whatever you have and I´m sure it would work just fine. Green goes well with any light colored bottom, I paired mine with white jeans. Clean pairing and perfect for me! :) top - Zara, belt - Blanco, jeans - Pimke To finish the casual look, wear a pair of of silver studded emerald flats or any kind of shoes and then you´re ready to paint the town green! So are you ready to go green ? ;) Happy Monday, all! Che

WIWW: Black and White

Image
Lovely,Wednesday, everyone! :) I wanted to try the winter white trend but can´t find the right white sweater to wear. So I settled for these white pants instead. White is another classic color which can be worn all year long from spring to winter. It looks fresh and clean. The only problem is maintaining it stain-free which is a hard feat for me because I do get careless with anything colored white. ;) I paired the pants with a marbled (it looks frayed in the photo, hehe!)  black and white sweater as a top, a fuschia colored clutch(another  lost and found  treasure in my closet) and to finish the whole look, a set of silver chain necklaces. Et voila , ready to go! Instead of a necklace, a scarf can also be added as neck accessory. It keeps the neck warm and complements an outfit well too. sweater - Mango, pants - Pimkie, clutch - Custo Barcelona Today´s What I Wore Wednesday.
