WIWW: The Week That Was

Image
Hello, my luvs! The cold weather caught on us finally and... it looks like we jumped directly to winter! So the past week, I wore nothing but jackets, jumpers and my favorite black sneakers. Here´s a rundown of what I did last week 1. The hub z and I went to our centuries old and very coquette cemetery  to visit our loved ones on November 1. It was a dreary day but the sun came out in time for lunch so yey for that! :) 2. The day after, I decided to do some window shopping at the mall. I saw this very cosy and toasty top at Zara. Love the stripes and the color combo too (I ´ve got a tote bag and mules to match with it, matchy-matchy, hehe) but the practical gal in me decided to let it go. I needed a long sleeved top because it´s winter, you know and I want my arms to feel warm too. 3. The weekend is for cultivating the mind and soul or make that every 1st Saturday of the month because I always make it a point to attend a classical concert at my city´s Museum of...

WIWW: The Floral Burgundy Dress

Image
Good morning, darlings! I´m still on the dress mode these days. This burgundy cutie with embroidered flowers on the upper torso were one the first floral dresses that came out of Zara at the end of summer this year. I´m partial to burgundy especially during the fall/autumn- winter season and so I didn´t think twice when buying this: And....it´s quite difficult to find a dress which fits a vertically challenged  girl like moi in Zara but after trying this one on, it fell  about 1 1 /2 inches above my knees. Hallelujah, no going to the tailor and so it came with me back home!😃 I wore a light green colored cross body leather bag to match with the light green floral accent of the dress and my favorite flats ( I lived in these all throughout summer) et voila , autumn outfit completed! So what´s your take on this autumnal color? Do you have anything burgundy in your closet? Hugs! Che

Monday Remix: Red Is It!

Image
Hola, holaaa! Red is so IN this season,  btw, this color is always in whenever autumn and winter comes along. So stock on this color if you must! I love the all red look trend but  for those of you who´s afraid to take the all red look ( like I do, lol ) , why not start with a little something  like a red top ( for example) and build up your red fix from there? There are different shades of red you can choose from and while mine´s a tad darker than the tomato red trend happening right now, you can always opt for any of the hundred shades of red that are available in the market right now. It´s only a matter the type of red you like best and that´s it! I bought this top form the winter sales last year and it´s been my go to for those super casual days especially that we´re still having warm weather days around here ( lucky us!) .  I might segue into my lightly knitted jumper/ sweaters next or a red bag or red shoes. The choices are limitless...

Flyday Friday: Nájera

Image
Good morning, my luvs! Finally, after like a gazillion promises here´s a short travel post for today to share with you. :) Aside from the world famous paella, Spain´s gastronomy wouldn´t be complete without it´s wines. In fact, one of the most sought after region for wine connaisseurs  in the world is the La Rioja region. These pics were taken sometime in September(last year, e eep !) when the harvest season began. We visited a touristy town called Nájera in La Rioja. Here´s what I wore: striped buttondown , shoes and bag - Massimo Dutti, pants - Mango, twill jacket- Zara A visit to one of La Rioja´s  pueblos , isn´t complete without stopping along the roadside to look at the grapes and a sneaky pic of the ripened grapes ready for harvesting. It´s quite tempting to plop a few on my mouth but they´re strict in here so photos only please and no grape tasting! Do you see that red cliff on the photo? This place was once used as a hiding place during the Moor i...

WIW: Autumnal Stripes

Image
Happy Wednesday, dears! I´m writing this post with the thick fog hovering outside our window and it´s already noon! Anyway, I just want to share this cute pair of palazzo pants that I got from Zara more than a month ago. If you live in a warm weather country right now, this is the best type of pants to celebrate autumn/fall without freezing and be on trend at the same time! Although the colors, blend well with the vegetation in here, sadly the cloth is quite thin for the chilly weather and so I had to wear clear tights under it. Oooops, TMI, hehe. Nevertheless, it´s quite an eye catching piece because I stood out in a sea of dark plain color outfits when I wore this, hahaha!😁 top and palazzo pants - Zara, shoes - Sfera, crossbody bag(very old )- Zara Have a lovely mid-week ahead! Hugs, Che PS: Linking up with Lindsay , Lauren , Allison , Victoria and Alisson . Join us! :)

WIWW: Metallic Stripes

Image
Good morning, girls! Just a short OOTD post to liven up the day. Aside from leopard, metallics are also IN this season. I opt for a metallic knit top in all fall colors. I wore this on a winter trip last December to the south of Spain, hence, the hotel room selfie (hahaha!).They do add some pizazz to an otherwise boring black outfit. ;) top( AW15)- Pull & Bear, jeans(old) - Zara, bag- Bimba & Lola, shoes - Massimo Dutti Have a lovely mid-week and oh for my US readers, you´ve got  a new Pressy! Lots pf luck on this one. Hugs, Che PS: Linking up with Lindsay .

Monday Remix: Fall Colors and this Jacket

Image
Good morning, my dears! While black, white and blue( denim) are my go-to colors all year round, with fall, I always go for rich hued colors such as maroon/burgundy/marsala, forest green teal  blue and mustard. These are my favorite color tones which I think combines well with my dark hair and skin color than say the light colors of spring. I´ve been incorporating fall colors little by little into my outfits since September just like this olive green top to upgrade my fall look: I have this jacket/blazer for more than a year now. It´s one of those all terrain jackets  that you just grab from your closet when you have nothing to cover yourself with when the temperature drops outside. As for the accessories, I dug out this chunky multi-colored necklace from the dungeon that is my jewelry drawer. The trend for necklaces these days are delicate chokers but hey, we can wear anything that we like don´t we? ;) knit top, pants, necklace(old)  - Zara, jacket(old) ...

Monday Remix: Fall Florals and Gray

Image
Hellooo! So this was me making the most of the last days of the summer sun and weather last week. Chilly weather started officially today. Although I´m favoring solid colored prints lately as a way of simplifying my wardrobe, I can never let go of floral prints especially with a gray background. If you happen to like wearing florals during fall, go for dark prints or in fall colors like burgundy and mustard. Gray too is my go to neutral shade aside from the ubiquitous black. I first wore this top here , wearing dark jeans but with a mustard colored cardigan. I changed the cardigan with the bag but with the same mustard color. top, pants, sandals ( all old)- Zara, tote bag - Furla So do you like wearing florals and gray during fall/autumn too? Hugs! Che

WIWW: Wine Season

Image
Hola, holaaa! Wasn´t it just the other day that I was commenting about transitional pieces to wear here in the blog? Suddenly, we´re aready in the middle of the week. How time flies! Anyway, here´s what I wore last weekend while visiting the neighboring city of Logroño, the capital of La Rioja region: The original plan was to take some photos of the tradional ¨ pisado de uvas ¨ or grape treading to start the annual harvest for 2016 but the plan bombed because we got lost looking for a place to park and when we arrived at the palza, the place was jampacked already. So we headed back to one of the famous wineries instead and took some photos. This awesome corrugated structure is called Bodegas Ysios, a fine artwork and winery designed by the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. It´s located in the town of Laguardia in the La Rioja- Alavesa region of Spain. I had the chance to visit this winery which included wine tasting by the way late autumn of last year but wasn´t ...

Fall Leather

Image
Hello, again people! It´s me signing in for November and telling you that yes, I´m still alive but drowning in school projects(as usual, hehe). We´re having a fairly warm fall/autumn lately and hey, I´m not complaining though we´re starting to have very foggy and cold mornings nowadays. jacket- Zara,top(old)- H&M, skirt- Pull&Bear This leather jacket is my go to these days because aside from being black ( it pairs with everything), it´s thick too which I can wear from morning til night. As for wearing skirts, let´s say that  tights are a must unless anyone of you is daring enough to go barelegged at 3 ºC while waiting for the bus in the morning. ;) So how have you been? Be safe always, my luvs! Hugs, Che

Monday Remix: Fall Uniform

Image
Hi, all! I hope you still remember me. ;) Just checking in to say hello. I can´t stay for long though and maybe will be gone again. Just wanted to know that I´ve missed all of you and your blogs. Anyway, just before winter sets in, here´s my fall unfiorm: top(old )- Pimke, sweater and jeans(old) - Zara, booties - local store, clutch - Mr. Joe A preppy mix of jeans, flat boots, a plaid/ plain button down and a sweater whose thickness depends on the average temperature outside. I live on this outfit the whole season especially now that I´m back at school. It´s comfortable, quite simple and not over the top for school. The perfect uniform for a no-fuss gal like me! And here are some of the ways I´ve worn the gray sweater since two years ago:                  winter 2014                                             ...

WIWW: Fuchsia and Black

Image
Hello, hello! I´m glad that I was able to snag this pair of tall suede boots during the winter sales this year. It´s becoming my favorite pair of shoes to put on every time I step out of the door and it´s so versatile too! I can wear this with tights and a skirt  like what I´m showing you today and skinny jeans which you´ll be seeing anytime soon. ;) I´m wearing old things here except for the fuchsia sweater which is a new addition to my fall wardrobe this year. I plan on not addding more because I´ve noticed that I´ve got enough sweaters to last me until winter. Crossing my fingers that I can keep that promise to myself though because I saw a lot of pretty things in the stores last week, lol! And what about you? Have you done some fall/autumn shopping? I can´t wait to see what you´re wearing. :) top , jacket(old) - H&M, skirt - Bershka,   necklace - Massimo Dutti ,clutch(old) - Blanco, boots- local store Enjoy the midweek, luvs ! Hugs , Che ...
