Monday Remix: The Gingham Blazer

Image
If by chance, you´ve been following my sporadic posts for a number of years, you would´ve known by now that my style choices have changed drastically from too colorful to too plain, hahaha! Don´t get me wrong, I still wear color from time to time although a lot of them doesn´t get documented here for some reason aka  no time to edit and post, oops! Anyhoo, the weather´s still goes loco on this side of the world and while it may already be full pledge summer in your place, we´re still experiencing the four seasons in ours(in a day). So what do I usually bring with me on days like these? A light blazer or to be exact a gingham blazer which I bought from the tail-end of the winter sales late February of this year. It´s light, in a classic monochrome color, long enough to cover my bum and in a discrete print where it doesn´t clash with what I´m wearing. Just the perfect all-around blazer to lug around during spring and early summer actually. blazer - Pull & Bear, kn...

Monday Remix: Dotty Dots

Image
Hello, everyone! It´s been a while, I know.😄 After a couple of months of hiatus(as usual), I finally got to edit some photos for the blog. Everything that I´m wearing here are not new except for the dotted top: I haven´t been catching on with the trends (clotheswise ) this season because I found out that I´ve got most of them all along in my closet (spring cleaning does that) and so I just buy pieces that really catch my eye like this flowy top: The top´s got billowy sleeves which is quite tricky to wear when you have short and chubby arms but hey, you´ve got to think out of the box and make things work in the name of fashion, right? ;) I just made sure that the dots aren´t big enough to drown my petite size and the top loose enough to skim over that muffin top that just keeps on growing by the year. Note to self : You´re not getting any younger Che and so move that tummy butt( a lot) ! lol top - Stradivarius, jeans(old ), bag(old) - Zara, mules(old) - Mary Paz An...

Monday Remix: Khaki Monochrome

Image
Good morning, everyone! I´m showing you another outfit from my short Portuguese escapade about three weeks ago. As I was telling you last week, the weather there was still summery and so I made use of this shirt dress again and went for a monochromatic look in khaki: I always love a good monochromatic get-up because it´s pleasing to the eye, elongating and it looks chic. The funny thing was that I didn´t notice that the background was in green (and white)   as well until my aunt and my friends pointed it out to me when they saw these pics in my FB page. Looking at it now, my look blended really well with the background. 😊😉😃 shirt dress - Zara, tote bag -Longchamp le Pliage, sandals - Primark, sunglasses - Massimo Dutti I first wore the shirt dress last spring with a multi-colored chevron weaved bag and flat gladiator sandals: I´m planning to remix this dress again as a duster coat  but when, that´s the big question because the weather...

WIWW: The Floral Burgundy Dress

Image
Good morning, darlings! I´m still on the dress mode these days. This burgundy cutie with embroidered flowers on the upper torso were one the first floral dresses that came out of Zara at the end of summer this year. I´m partial to burgundy especially during the fall/autumn- winter season and so I didn´t think twice when buying this: And....it´s quite difficult to find a dress which fits a vertically challenged  girl like moi in Zara but after trying this one on, it fell  about 1 1 /2 inches above my knees. Hallelujah, no going to the tailor and so it came with me back home!😃 I wore a light green colored cross body leather bag to match with the light green floral accent of the dress and my favorite flats ( I lived in these all throughout summer) et voila , autumn outfit completed! So what´s your take on this autumnal color? Do you have anything burgundy in your closet? Hugs! Che

WIWW: The Mili Green Dress

Image
Good morning, my darlings! Two more days and it´s officially fall/autumn on this side of the world. The weather´s been quite nippy these days although we still have a few sunny days in a week so it isn´t  bad. Here´s a transitional look that I suggest during those warm days: A shirt dress with an uneven hemline is the perfect in-between seasonal clothing for those sunny days in fall/autumn. This dress works two ways: worn on it´s on or used as a cover-up over pants/pants and top, et voila, outfit complete! You can always put on a cardigan over it when the temperature drops later in the afternoon. ;) Moreover, the military green color is a basic fall/autumn color and so you´re on `fleek´ with this dress.😉😊 I bought this dress in July but can´t seem to find it any more in the Zara website  but here are some options: 1st is this  and 2nd is this in mustard and gray color. dress and sandals - Zara, sunglasses - H&M,  bag - Bimba& Lola What ...

Monday Remix: Matchy-Matchy in Nude

Image
Good morning, everyone! So how´s the weekend? Mine´s been a cold one but hey, we´ve had the best summer in years and so I´m not complaining.  Anyway, here´s a typical outfit that I wear when the temp drops: Although, the trend nowadays is about lots of ruffles, cold shoulders and bell sleeves, I still opt for my good old cashmere sweater. You can never go wrong with a cashmere sweater because it´s a basic, a keeper and doesn´t go out of trend anytime! Right? Right. I´ve noticed that I´m gravitating towards solid colors this year, maybe it´s the age or the lifestyle or both but I´m okay with it because they´re easy to mix and match. denim jacket, pants- Zara, cashmere sweater - local store, tote bag - Purificacion Garcia, flats - Aldo So what are you wearing lately? Has fall/autumn already landed on your doorstep? Hugs, Che PS: Linking up with Rachael ,  Lauren  and Erin . Join us! :)

WIWW: The Wrap Around Skirt

Image
Heeeeeyyyy! How are you? I know it´s been like almost three months(!!!) since my last post, it´s been a while isn´t it? No apologies here because I know you´ll be hearing the same reason again and again --- real life took over blogger life, big time, hehe . Anyway, summer´s in full swing while the sales are about to end. It´s a good thing that I was able to snatch this top and skirt up before they´re finally sold out. They´re so comfy, mind you! My style´s gone super minimalist these days and with this heat, a T-shirt, a wrap around skirt which is becoming one of my favorite sale find and some leather slides( a la Birkenstock) combo is my go to uniform almost every day. The less clothes we put on, the better it is, right?  Never mind that I look like a stump in these slides but they´re so oo  light.  Just don´t forget the sunglasses and sunblock and we´re good to go and conquer the sun! top - Zara, skirt - Stradivarius, sunglasses - Massimo Dutti, bag - Bim...

Monday Remix: Stripes and Cut-offs

Image
Hello, hellooo! Today, I´ve decided to put on some metallic stripes instead of the pink overloaded that has taken over everyone´s closet this season. Oh and I did cave in and bought a pink top ( just one because  I already have a growing collection from several years of ¨curating¨ the color ) and you´ll be seeing it soon. But for now, here are some stripes to break the monotone that´s pink that you´re seeing in everyone´s blog: top(old ) and jeans - Pull & Bear, crossbody bag - Bimba & Lola Have a lovely week, dears! Hugs, Che

Monday Remix All Blue and Fuchshia

Image
Good morning, my darlings! Finally, it´s spring, yay! Have you done your spring cleaning? ;) I have but then last weekend, the temperatures dropped to  winter-y levels and so I´m back to my thick puffer jacket again. What´s new? This is one of those times of the year where the weather turns bright and summery to cold---- freezing cold in like... a day? Anyway, on those days where it´s sunny, I make do with a thick sweater/jumper like this one I´m wearing: It´s quite thick and warm still ( no need to put on a jacket with it)  and colored blue which pairs well with my dark indigo and black jeans too. Oh and speaking of colors and trends here´s a new addition to my clutch collection, a fuschia colored yummy clutch from Massimo Dutti: I got this from the latest winter sales. Since I already have a lot of pink stuff in my closet, I thought this lovely leather clutch would match perfectly with my spring and summer outfits which could either be in chambray, white or bl...

Monday Remix: Olive Green

Image
Good morning, everyone! I´m making the most of the cool weather before spring starts here in my city. It´s definitely getting warmer in here although we still get very low temps in the morning and later in the day when  the sun sets. I´m on the ¨green phase¨ ( you know me and my color phases, lol!) right now and tend to  collect favor colors like khaki, olive green and military green. This plaid scarf is my latest addition to my growing collection, oops! I bought this at my local accessories store and got a 20% discount, the perks of being friends with the owner.😻 Everything that I´m wearing are quite old and my favorite stuff to mix and match during the autumn- winter season except for the scarf which is relatively new. As for these olive green booties, I´ve noted that it did not get much attention than it derserved and so I´m wearing it as much as possible nowadays. To tell you the truth though, I´m weaing my walking shoes from Zara more than these ones, h...

Monday Remix:The Long Lost Furry Friend

Image
Hola, holaaaa! It´s another Monday my darlings, which means, it´s the start of another week. Time flies so fast indeed and the weather´s getting fantastic every week aka, more sunny days and higher temps. Yey! You all know that the furry coat took center stage aside from the puffer jacket this season, right? I mean they even come in different sizes and colors! The bigger or more furry, better. I´ve always associated fur coats with elegant dressing because with jeans? Uhmm, not really my style. But last weekend, on a lunch day with my girlfriends, everything changed: top and shoes- Zara, jeans- Pull & Bear, bag- Bimba & Lola, coat- vintage fur I finally wore it with jeans and I´m loving it! The hubz was telling me to wear my new leopard coat but in the end, the practical side in me won because it´s a chilly day and our lunch always extends to dinner later. 😸 I can´t believe I´ve had this coat for more than three years but just let it hang in my closet was...

WIWW: A Denim Shirt Dress For Fall

Image
Hola, holaaa! In nine days it´s gonna be winter and so even if  today´s temperature dropped to less than 5 ºC, technically it´s  still fall, right? ;) Denim shirt dresses are starting to be closet staples. The stores even have it every season! Since I love denim or chambray shirt dresses, I hoarde them.So how do you prep up your summer denim shirt dress for the cold season? Easy peasy, just put on tights and a jacket over it and you´re good to go! It´s a no-brainer actually. 😄 Since I´m wearing neutral colors, I used a red envelope clutch for a pop of bright red to add some life to the whole look. And oh, a pair of heeled booties for additional inches to this vertically challenged girl too! jacket(old) - , shirt dress - Mango, shoes and clutch - Zara Hoping you´çre enjoying your mid- week, my darling fashionistas! :) Hugs, Che PS: Linking up with Victoria , Lindsay and Allison .

WIW: Autumnal Stripes

Image
Happy Wednesday, dears! I´m writing this post with the thick fog hovering outside our window and it´s already noon! Anyway, I just want to share this cute pair of palazzo pants that I got from Zara more than a month ago. If you live in a warm weather country right now, this is the best type of pants to celebrate autumn/fall without freezing and be on trend at the same time! Although the colors, blend well with the vegetation in here, sadly the cloth is quite thin for the chilly weather and so I had to wear clear tights under it. Oooops, TMI, hehe. Nevertheless, it´s quite an eye catching piece because I stood out in a sea of dark plain color outfits when I wore this, hahaha!😁 top and palazzo pants - Zara, shoes - Sfera, crossbody bag(very old )- Zara Have a lovely mid-week ahead! Hugs, Che PS: Linking up with Lindsay , Lauren , Allison , Victoria and Alisson . Join us! :)
