Flyday Fridays: Aranjuez Palace Garden

Today´s Flyday Fridays edition is brought to you by the Aranjuez Palace which is about 20 to 25 minutes by train from the capital city of Madrid.

I have visited this palace about five years ago, a must if classic artwork and architecture is your thing. There´s also a free view of the wedding gowns of  the Royal princesses and Queen Letizia as an added bonus to the visit. I didn´t get to see the palace gardens back then and so this time, we went straight to them and skipped the palace tour.

The weather was fiery hot(pun intended) and so I wore my thinnest cotton shirt with a colorful summery print, shorts, sandals and my ever reliable light tote to store my water and sun screen. I forgot to bring a hat and it was so hot, ooops!

The garden beside the palace is called ¨ La Isla¨ (Isle Garden) with lovely evergreen topiaries, a mini forest and with beautiful water fountains in classical Greek style.

It was so hot that I was tempted to take a dip in one of these fountains, hahaha!

This was once the summer palace of the Spanish Royals where they usually take a tour along the river.in their royal boats. There´s a collection of the royal barge in one of the palaces. Nowadays, this place is used for kayaking.

As a plus, there was a mini car show near the garden, old vintage mini cars from the German brand Opel, model 800 made between the 50s to the 80s:

Nautical and Taupe

Hello, I´m still here! I know it´s been four days since my last post. ;) Real life´s been hectic lately and so I had to let go of  my blog life for a couple of days to attend to some urgent personal  matters. Anywa yz ,I´m back and wearing stripes! Since stripes looks good with sea, I´m sharing two photo snippets of Biarritz´s beaches in between my outfit photos. While almost everyone usually pair blue stripes with red or white I went for something different like taupe. Taupe is my new gray and I´m loving it! You should try it too. :) So why beach photos of Biarritz? It has one of the best beaches on this side of the world, it´s in France ( in the south actually)  and the place is chic ¨super magnified¨ !  As to my outfit, I´m finishing the look with a blush colored leather jacket and then I´m off for my afternoon walk later. Cheesecake, anyone?

shirt dress converted to top - Zara ( from the sales last year) Lately, I´ve discovered that the extra pounds that I´ve unconsciously piled over the past years have finally settled comfortably on my face. I´m going to hide my face for now. ;) Do you have a wgi (weight gain indicator and I made this up)  in your body? I do and it´s my face (aside from the muffin top). hehe!;) earrings - bazaar (Phils.) I love shirt dresses. They´re loose and they basically hide anything that you wanted to hide. Know what I mean? ;) One bad thing about this particular dress shirt though is the fit. It´s too loose, a bit short and it doesn´t look good with my mini ... and so a lot of rolling and folding was done to achieve the  laid back look that I wanted to create . That´s me rolling and folding below. ;) I´m just kidding about hiding my face. Here it is... and yes, my face is so healthy, no? :) Say hello to the weight gain culprit ! My guilt...
