Dressing Up For Me

How are you,  peeps ? Summer´s still in full swing on this side of the pond and I´m really enjoying it. There are very hot days though that I wish it would rain because our summer here is very dry. You know what that means, frizzy hair and very dry skin for you and me. Anyway, I´m wearing my old favorites here except for the bag which is debuting here in the blog today. I´m quite wary of having a white bag but white combine really well with everything especially with summer outfits. Oh and by the way, everything that I´m wearing in this outfit are from the sales ( mix summer and winter sales throughout the years).  I love sale shopping because I can get the most of my ¨pasta¨( Spanish slang for money). Now that my friends is called shopping wisely for real . ;) As for this denim hat, I finally found the exact name for this exact style/type of hat, it´s called a ¨bucket hat¨. Makes sense. Warning: Picture heavy post. ;) Happy first week of September y´all ! This is a travel post and so beware of the the photo overload. ;) Now that we have that cleared, let me take you to Tui, a very old town in Galicia(Spain) which belongs to the province of Pontevedra. Here´s a view from the cathedral´s garden facing the mountains of Portugal. Tui´s Cathedral has a gothic design on the main vestibule/ frontal part. You can visit the church, museum, garden and go up for a bird´s eye view of the town and neighboring Portugal. On the west vestibule( left side) of the church, it has a Romanesque influence. That´s a spectacular door, isn´t it? ;) Next stop was La Guardia (A Guarda in Galician), the border town of Galicia before Portugal. We took this pic from the mountains which lead to an old celtic remains and a sanctuary. Holaaa! Of all the trends out there, it´s the boyfriend jeans which I feel that I shouldn´t be wearing. You see, the current styles are so huge and loose( even with two sizes down my normal size) that I feel swamped  and literally look like a stump whenever I tried them on because of my small frame. So I passed ... and still passing on it til I found this pair with just the right fit and price(it was on sale!) then finally, I took the plunge. It´s white too and you can never go wrong with white. You can wear it throughout the year and it pairs with everything! Peplum + floral =  my favorite combination. Yup, I think the peplum trend would be gone soon but I don´t care. As long as the fit and style looks good on me then it stays in my closet. I´m glad that there are no fashion rules nowadays unlike before and so we can always wear the style, color and print that we want anytime, anywhere. Hello, Monday! I´m making the most of the last days of summer visiting places of interest. Case point, these huge slabs arranged like a deck of cards in the middle of the wheatfield. And no, these aren´t just an ordinary pile of huge rocks, they are more than a thousand years old and were once used as a burial ground in here. This quaint architecture is called a dolmen . Naturally, I had to take my outfit pics with them , hahaha! I wore this top and shorts combo while visiting my doctor. Yes, we´re that casual and cool in here. With my doctor, I mean. ;) I´m more than glad that she´s a girl too because my top´s see-through, hahaha! Frankly, I was already in the street when the hubz (who insists that he isn´t a prude) commented that my top is quite sheer to wear as it is. But I tell ya it´s so light and it´s made of mulberry silk and it´s cool to the body. I only have two kinds of shorts in my closet, denim and those with solid colors. Hello, dahlings ! How´s summer treating you in your side of the world? It´s still hot in here (although the weatherman says that we´ll have rain showers today) and I´m getting a beautiful tan. I can even tell how deep my tan is by comparing it with the only thing which hasn´t seen the sun, the white patch perefectly hidden below my wrist watch, hehe . Anyway, I´m kinda tired of wearing white and pale colours and so I jumped ahead of the bandwagon and wore gold. Summer flew so fast, September´s just a round the corner! The stores are slowly filling up with cobalt, gold/mustard,fuchsia, red, dark grey colors and that only means one thing, fall  aka  autumn( in my side of the world) defiinitely is coming. Happy Wednesday, everyone and yes, I have a very red background, hihihi! May background´s flooded with lots of red poppies. :) I may have told you that I went on a long weekend trip to London the other weekend. So here´s a sneak peek of what´s to come although for now, these are outfit pics. We took these on our first stop of the day, at the Tower of London. I know that the London weather is ambivalent but I didn´t expect that it changes it´s mind every three minutes from  sunny->cloudy->rainy and so I wore black and a hat , just in case. I wanted something breezy and dark because I´m bloated(as usual) and a pair of flats because there was a lot of walking going on. The red tote was for storing the denim jacket when it´s sunny and the umbrella for the rain showers. If there´s one piece of clothing that I would normally grab from my closet aside from my white button downs and chambrays, it would this pair of white shorts. It´s such the perfect thing to wear in the summer heat and combines with anything. It´s even photogenic with water as your background! ;) I´ve had this shorties for a while now and this time, I paired it with a cool cotton white top for a crisp and clean look. Since I´m loving pink these days, I used my old fuchsia bag and colored sandals for a touch of color. top - Version Originale, shorts(very old ) - Bershka, bag(old) , sandals -Zara An all white summer look is great for some outdoor escapades, I wore this on my 4th day stay in the western part of Spain and it kept me relaxed and cool the whole day.
