Flyday Fridays: Burgundy All the Way

Image
I´m making it short today. The loving hub z calls this my dwarf outfit  because I´m wearing leggings, sneakers and I look so pudgy, hehe.  Was this the same guy that I married who kept on telling me that I still look pretty even when I had a full blown chicken pox scavenging my face? Oh, men! Pardon the blurry photos, y´all know how´s the weather these days and this was the only dry place to take some decent outfit photos aside from my kitchen door. Keep warm everyone and I hope you aren´t stranded in the snow right now! Have a fun weekend! WIWW: Spots on Spots

Image
Finally, some ¨street shot¨ photographs on the blog, whew ! :) It`s only a matter of time before I start wearing animal prints again  and so here it is, my first animal print post for 2014. It´s not hard not to debut this super comfy jegging(yes, it is and it was on sale!) with those spots in light blue wash. :) Of course, I had to pair it with a leopard necklace because I want my spots doubled. ;) I placed the mint green mesh sweater top of a chambray shirt( definitely not the same one I wore last Monday, fyi ), put on my coppery metallic shoes which has a plexi glass heel(I love it!) and a gray peacoat to finish the look. The, ah, dark blue clutch is for added color. ;) chambray top - Pimkie, sweater - local store, jegging - Zara, clutch, shoes and coat(very old )- Mango So there goes my OOTD last weekend posted on a Wednesday. What´s yours? ;) Enjoy the mid-week, y´all ! :) Hugs, Che PS: I´m linking up with Style Elixir´s Style Sessions , The

Monday Remix: Classic Chambray

Image
Hello there! ;) Mondays are for clothes remix from now on and so I´ve changed my post title to  Monday Remix from Anything Goes Monday. Although you´ll still see outfit remixes on Wednesdays and Fridays ( because I love mixing old and new) , old pics on how I wore a specific item will be shown on  Mondays. Just so you´ll know, I´m a not a creative remixer but I love mixing colors and textures. ;) My first foray into chambray ( although I´ve worn this in the 90s with a thicker denim and I´m not sure if it´s called chambray then, lol!)  was this thrifted top in 2011. There were a lot of chambray shirts hanging on the rack in the only thrift store in my barrio that time and so I got one for myself to try. Little did I know that this old top will be one of my favorite go-to tops when I like to dress in a flash or do the layering thing. Chambrays in my opinion are a classic just like black pumps, LBDs and pearls. Today, I experimented with mixing different prints and textur

Flyday Fridays: By the Seaside

Image
Most people who go to vacation in Alicante during the summer holidays usually go to just one place, Benidorm. Sun, sea, mild weather all year round  and relatively cheaply priced drinks compared to the other famous vacation spots in Europe, say France, makes this place the perfect dream destination for beach lovers who love to soak in the sun all day, drink beer/sangria and have fun all night! After having a sumptuous lunch at one of the restaurants along the port of Alicante(the capital city), we hopped on the tram-train to Benidorm. The trip took about 70 minutes. I´ve never been on this side of Spain and although I wasn´t really keen on visiting this place ( I grew up on a tropical island with a semi-private beach just a hundred meters from our kitchen window) , I happily went along with the hub z . What the hubz told me was true. There´s nothing there but the beach, sand, a few palm trees and yes, the scrycrapers. Lots of them in every corner! A shot to keep just in cas

WIWW: Ivory and Sea Blue

Image
Today´s color palette is? Ivory and varying shades of  blue. At first glance, the varying shades of blue of the skirt looks like colored sound bytes on a computer screen but I like to describe it as the colors of a tempestuous sea. Dark, colorful yet mysterious. The perfect skirt to pair with this embossed ivory printed sweater which also doubles as a thermal top. I didn´t have a chance to take a close-up pic of this currently favorite necklace of mine when I first debuted it here but as usual, I failed and ended up with a blurry shot, hahaha! After many years of  searching and waiting, I finally got my pair of black pointed pumps. Yep, I know. Black pointed pumps have been here for ages but I have tiny feet and every pair that I tried was just not the right fit. In fact for this I had to wear foot petals just in case the shoes land first before my feet when I walk . ;) Finishing the whole look with a tiny clutch because the outift´s already busy above (necklace) and b

Anything Goes Monday: Colored Pants Remix

Image
Are colored pants still in, peeps ? My look for today is a no-brainer . As usual, I just played with the colors of my pants and match my top with it, hahaha! Then, I accessorized with lots of metal, gold, silver, you name it! I´m really liking these pants because the length´s okay for my height and I didn´t have to go to the seamstress to have it shortened ( saves me a few bucks). Best of all it was on sale! top and pant s- H&M, bootie - Mango, necklace - Primark I first wore this pair of pants in 2012 with.... a solid colored dark blue sweater     and   last year I wore it again with a white top and a gray cardigan So how do you dress up a pair of colored pants? Sorry for the super crappy photos, I´m shooting indoors nowadays because of the bad weather in here. Have a lovely week, all!  :) Besitos, Che PS: I´m linking up with Fizz and Frosting´s Mix It Mondays  and Still being Molly´s Funday Monday  and DC in Style´s Monday Bloom  and Styl

Flyday Fridays: Travel Outfit

Image
Hi, all! :) Do you travel with white pants/jeans? I don´t and wear black because I´m not really good with keeping anything white at the end of the day. No matter how much I tried keeping my top, jeans or shoes spot free, at the end of the day there´s always a stain somewhere. Uff! But I love wearing white especially in the middle of summer when everything´s scorchingly hot, it´s just that I don´t travel with white jeans. I reserve this pair when I just take a walk here in my place, go out with the girlfriends or window shop in the mall. I´m starting to incorporate light colors into my outfits because the weather´s like spring in here these days. I just hope that this continues because the weatherman promised a wintry weather this weekend. button down , clutch - Blanco, jeans - Pimkie, necklace - Promod Anyway, I wore this outfit when I met up with the girlfriends yesterday. I felt wobbly after a few minutes of wearing these heels and so I wore flats after taking this

WIWW: Remixing the Skirt

Image
Hellooo! The reason why I buy lots of tops and skirts is because the possibility of mixing and matching is endless. You  can never do the endless remixing with a dress. ;) So here I am again with this colorful midi skirt which I first wore here , remixed into another look. I hope you like it! This time I paired it with my leather boots (one of my best thrift finds),  a light colored clutch ( spring´s just around the corner) and a black sweater because hey, we´re still in winter mode, dahlings!  ;) The short faux leather is the finishing touch to the whole look. The weather´s been mild in here comapared to the past years and so I can get on with wearing a light jacket without freezing to death. :) top , jacket(old) -H&M, skirt -Zara, clutch(old) - Blanco, boots -thrifted So have you been remixing your clothes lately? Today´s a Wednesday, I´m linking up with Style Elixir´s Style Sessions  and The Pleated Poppy´s What I Wore Wednesday , The Mummy Chronicles´ W

Flyday Fridays: A Date With Elche

Image
Halloooo! Happy Friday, dahlings ! Today, I´m taking you on a date (pun intended)  to the city of Elche in Valencia, Spain. I´d like to call it as the palm tree city of Spain because of it´s more than 200,000 palm trees grown over generations. Moreover, the kilometers of palm grove was awared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000. This is just one of the main parks of the city a few meters from the train station. Of course, I had to take a posterity shot of the fountain in the background. ;) coat(old) - Sandro, button down - New Yorker, pants - Pimkie, tote bag - Longchamp le Pliage Below is the Altamira Castle originally built between the12-13th century which is now part of the Elche Archaeology and History Museum. I also found these giant figures inside the museum which are present in Spanish fiestas and are usuaully paraded around. Elche is also known  for one of the most important archaeological finds in Spain, the stone bust of  the beautiful
